Fake or Genuine?

by jlheng » Apr 2nd, '09, 08:42

So I'm looking for a yixing pot. It doesn't have to be handmade (I'm on a budget).

I know these pots are cheap - but do you folks really think these are made of yixing clay? Fake or phoney?

They may be made in Yixing but they are not pure Yixing clay at those prices. We all want real natural Yixing clay but you must question the sellers. If they cannot answer your questions satisfactorily, delet them from your bookmarks! I even wonder if the Yixing potters even process their own clay anymore and whether most know the real story. It's a business and putting a name on something is not the same as it once was.
