Tuesday TeaDay 4/07/09 Can you say refund?

by Chip » Apr 7th, '09, 02:25

Welcome everyone to TeaDay. Please stop by and share what is in your cup.

Yesterday responders were pretty evenly split on the caffeine OD issue. You can still discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic was suggested by Boywoodhe. How much of your income tax check will you spend on tea? Please share your tea plans.

I am as always looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Great poll boywoodhe! I'm sure we are all thinking about taxes now, one way or another!

Nah, None of it, got bills to pay or other plans.

Of course come to think of it some of those bills are tea and teaware already charged!! heh

As a full time postgraduate student I don't pay any income tax, so none!

Just woken up, perhaps Lapsang Souchong to start the day.

Jack :D

What check I am paying in this year.

That was a bummer, I owed lots of money since my job doesn't deal with any of that. But I did manage to get a huge gift certificate for adagio and got myself some sencha. Wow, that stuff is addictive :D

I suppose some of it will go to tea. It's like the tea tax ... money comes in from someplace and at least a little has to go back out to tea.

Alas, I owed this year. But I owed for a good reason, so it's not that bad.

Anyway, I've had a a TGY and a 1996 Menghai over the last day or so, and I'm finishing both of them off this morning. Sadly, I think I scalded my taste buds on something, so I wasn't able to taste much of the Menghai last night

Oh- none- we always seem to come out near zero. We owe $1000 to the feds but get $1000 back from the state. I so don't understand how it can come out so opposite and I know that the money people say that the money should be in your mitts not the govt so you shouldn't be set up to get a refund but..... I really liked when I used to get some money back :) and if I did, some would certainly go to tea!

I already spent some of the money, before we even got it, on a new lens for my camera. so my husband is not gonna let me use even more of it on tea. I have used enough of our 'regular' money on tea already
Right now I'm drinking 'citron green' and I love it. I must have done something wrong last time because then I hated it :?

Our refund has already come and gone, and none of it to tea or teaware.

I have a dentist appt. this morning and am enjoying some Adagio Cinnamon before I go.

Cheryl, you need to bump up your Fed deduction just a bit. Did you know that in addition to the filing status you choose, you can also opt to pay an additional flat fee each paycheck? If you and hubby both say, put in $25 each check, you will get a refund and not have to pay. And may not miss it too much, especially if you time the deduction with a pay raise.

Good company, tea and free tax advice too!! haha!!

Nice pic Sal, especially the close up that shows the leaf cuts!

In my cup this morning a black sample from Strand.

Have a nice day everyone!

*technically* none of it is going to tea..its going to pay off close to the last of my debt! BUT i suppose since I am getting some back and i am using it to pay bills that frees up some of my "regular" paycheck that would have been used to pay those same bills for some TEA!

I'm in the "what check?" category. We underestimated state withholding this year (long story)... we're getting $300 back on fed but owe $1200 to the state. Ouch. Oh, well.

None is going directly to tea! :D
We were fortunate to get some back this year, but there are other places the funds need to go.

I'm working on a mug of the Lumbini Estate Ceylon tea this morning.
