Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay. Please stop by and share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday responders indicated surprising that little or none of the tax refund was going to tea purchases. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. During the course of a typical or average TeaWeek, how many different teas do you drink? Please share some details with us.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

I normally drink one puerh per day, but a different one each day. So ... I guess I will count that as 7 different teas since I want to score high on the test. If I count them all as one tea, well, then that's a lot less. So I put down 16 to 20 since I make a conscious effort not to drink the same tea very often. Some weeks it may be over twenty, but other weeks I just can't keep my hands off the Yutaka Midori that long!
And then there's the oddball things that just collect in the corners, things I forget about until I find them after a couple months ... like today's great Thiashola Nilgiri that bowls me over every time I remember to brew it ... or the dark and lemony beauty pictured below that comes from the Uva Region of Ceylon. The minuscule flowers are dog fennel, a favorite wildflower of mine.

10-12 teas per week, on average.
At one point I had 90 teas open at the same time
so I put everything into a spreadsheet and vac-packed most of them and created scheduling heuristics to plan them. I cycle through 3 Japanese Greens, 5 or 6 oolongs, and 2 or three other teas (Pu, white, yellow, ...) every week. I've been finishing 2 or 3 bags of the opened teas every week and my tea stocks are finally starting to settle down.
No more tea tonight. Have a good night folks.

Funny, I went with 10-12, too. I try to have a different pu-erh every day, usually starting in the evenings of work days. And then in the mornings, I try to have a non-puerh tea, though I often repeat a tea during the week. So not quite 14.
As such, this morning I have enjoying some gaiwan-brewed Tai Ping Hou Kui. Mmm.

In my cup this morning Dragon Tea House Ba Xian Dan Cong
I said 4-6 - because some weeks it is as low as 2 and some weeks more like 10
It probably goes low when I am exploring a tea, trying it with different parameters, pots, gaiwans, and other factors including different cups/bowls.
It probably goes low when I am tidying my tea store and decide that I have to finish some teas to make space.
It probably goes low when I am too lazy to brew, need a coffee fix or am tidying my coffee store, or having an extended session in my wine cellar.
It probably goes high when I get a tea buzz, when I am tidying my teaware collection (pots, gaiwans and cups) (pitchers, display vessels and others).
It decidedly goes low when I buy a new Malt Whisky or 2!
It definitely goes high when I start (re)reading a good teabook, or keep encountering fascinating posts on TeaChat and I think to myself
"I have got some of that tea, AND I have not tried it for a while!"
It USED to go high when I got a new tea delivery
It now goes low, because a new tea delivery prompts me in to tea store tidying mode!

I said 7-9 since that's the number it has been in for the last few weeks. I am working on some Pu-Ehr samples though so I have a different Pu every day, so maybe that is not a very good measuring stick since those samples won't last very long. But I'll have new tea by then so maybe its not so bad.
Just finished my breakfast blend. Going out to town to look at potential wedding clothes and see my wife to be.

My first thought was 10-12 but it's probably higher sometimes. I usually have a different oolong everyday, some mornings I have different blacks, not always. Especially if I am trying to finish one up.
Tao of Tea Nilgiri Blue in my cup this morning.
Have a nice day everyone!

Now starting my 3rd pot of Ba Xian
In my garden this morning
Last week the Damson blossom was doing well - it still is

But the Victoria Plum was just emerging - it is out now.
One of the Tulips that did not provide food for the Winter Mice.
The Pulsatilla continues to enthrall me

And I love the Puschkinia
My Lone Camellia has already shed about 30 flowers
But
My 10 Japanese Maples are starting to compensate
- here is Katsura

and one more shot of Pulsatilla
