Friday TeaDay 4/10/09 User name clues?

by Chip » Apr 10th, '09, 01:18

Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay. We hope you will stop by and share what is in your cup.
Yesterday we found out that Eric's fave TeaLanguage is Red, I guess as in Red Rose?. 8) And the top pick of all other responders was Japanese. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. This was asked around a year or so ago, and we have many new members since then. What is the significance of your User name that you use here on TeaChat? Even if you answered this last time, for the benefit of others, please share again. And details, pleeeeze!

I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

It is my true name. I have had it changed since last year.

OK, OK, would you believe: the one thing I can't do IRL is dance, so I compensate by naming myself after "one who is a dancer, aficionado, or performer of Salsa." Pssssst! Calientico!

All the good tea-related screen names were taken, and my real name is a bit too popular among strippers. So, I just went with one of my usual handles.

As for why I use that handle... Well, for the sake of avoiding the word “obsessed,” let’s just say that I’m extremely interested in history. As a matter of fact, though I’ve liked tea for quite some time, I didn’t really become fascinated with the leaf until I started learning more about the history and traditions associated with it.

Ali shan in my cup.

It's a handle. Sometimes I call my BF by that term but less so now. Also I'm an animal lover, in particular rodents (or rodent-looking in most cases). I think they're adorable :D

Went through 4 cups of sencha in an hour, after that 3 of "cream" from adagio, and might go for a chamomile in hopes of falling asleep soon.

Drax is short for Draxus, a name I made up for a couple of role-playing type games back in 1994. I still play one of them. For all intents and purposes, it has become a second name for me after 15 years! :D

On a sadder note, no tea for me this morning. I need to go see the doctor, and although he said "liquids" were okay, I thought I'd stay away from tea just to be safe and stick with water. Oh the humanity!

Different Hats I wear when in Different Moods

by Herb_Master » Apr 10th, '09, 07:30

Many years ago in an attempt to rationalise my PC usage I created several different Windows users.

Well 4 exactly, each ending in Master - supposed to help me in my endeavours to master my understanding of various interests and topics.

When I log in as Herb_Master I get a different set of PC defaults for which programs load on start up, which directories are used as default etc. Accompanying Mail accounts help me sift the email more selectively. Different profiles and favourites for Internet Explorer etc.

Herb_Master accounts for herb appreciation, aromatherapy and massage and alternative therapies. Gardening and plants and mycology. The wonderful world of nature and TEA.

Vine_Master a ccounts for Food and Alcoholic beverages and until 12 months ago was always my first choice of Log In - but now it is always Herb_Master who logs in first.

Hobby_Master for Photography and all Sport especially rugby, cycling and rambling or fell walking. This will be my first log in during the Tour De France for quick and easy access to progress and results.

Different Hats I wear when in Different Moods
Best wishes from Cheshire

I picked up "chad" on another forum following the 2000 Pres. elections. I'm from FL and with all the "hanging chad" stories I got tagged! :D

Enjoying my first mug of Lumbini Estate Ceylon tea this morning.

My cat is called "Cinnamon." She is awesome. I picked up "Cinnamon Kitty" when I switching my aim/msn account names a while ago and just kept it from there on.

I am about to make some sort of black tea as soon as I get to the kitchen, though I am not sure what type yet.

I had to make up something real quick when I registered. I chose 'cinni' cause I like all things with cinnamon. I wish I could change it though :)

I am woozl, as in woozls and heffalumps.....from Milne. W. the Pooh
“Take some more tea,” the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
“I’ve had nothing yet,” Alice replied in an offended tone: “so I ca’n’t take more.”
“You mean you ca’n’t take less,” said the Hatter: “it’s very easy to take more than nothing.”
