What brand is it? I have a 2 quart Mr. Coffee ice tea maker ... For mine the pitcher has two lines the bottom one is the water fill line which is used to measure the water that is dumped into the base and the second higher line is the ice cube fill line. As to the basket that goes on top of the pitcher I use 6 teaspoons worth of black tea for my 2 quart pitcher so I'd recommend starting with 9 teaspoons and working from there to figure out how much you need to get the desired strength that you are after.

I have a 2 Liter iced tea maker. I use 1/2 water which is ~4 cups, 7-8 tsps of tea or 7-8 tea bags depending upon what your using. Then when it is done brewing I let it cool down, once it is cool I fill it the rest of the way with water and then put it in the fridge. If you put hot tea in the fridge it will get cloudy. You can just substitute the ice in where I put the water in the end, or even (depending upon your machine) put the ice in in the begining and it will be nice and cool once it is done brewing. Adjust the numbers to your size and you should be good.
