New Teaware from Brussel

by J. » Apr 13th, '09, 09:18

Hi!

I haven't read and posted for a few months but I'm coming back.

Reading this forum has influenced me and I wanted to have buy a gaiwan (I think it's the right name).
So I decided to go in Brussel in "asianstreet" (because there's no china town).

Finding the street was a challenge. Fortunately, in my way (not really straight way) to "asianstreet", I found a teashop and bought Nepalese tea.
The seller also gave me a free small pack of "Oolong Milky".

In Chinastreet, I only went to the supermarket because Friends were waiting for me to juggle. There I bought 2 industrial but cheap gaiwan, simple white sencha cups and also asian food for my sister because she's a "manga and asian 'culture' freak".

So let's stop speaking, here are the pictures.

Image
All the cups
0.6€ for a sencha cup
2.6€ The "rice" gaiwan.
7€ The smaller one with 4 cups

I also bought two other cups but I haven't taken any picture of these yet.

And finally a picture of the "Oolong Milky" I recieved.
Yesterday morning, I really enjoyed drinking this one using the small gaiwan and I spent one hour drinking it, smelling the leaves, smelling the tea, looking a the tea leaves and finally did 3 infusions.

If you can't see the pictures, just click here and the will normally appear. If the don't, just have a look in the picasia gallery.

Thanks for sharing! I also have that rice gaiwan and some matching cups. And I more recently found a matching English-style teapot in the same pattern for 2 bucks, but it has no lid, so I am on the quest to find a small white lid that will fit.

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***

No, I really don't know waht Rituals Spa is.

The teas i've bought in Brussel are from "Comptoir Florian"

Oh, thanks,

I'll have a look one day.
Here in Belgium it's called the coffee club. I never drink coffee...

The white rose is just lovely. And I liked their Lapsong too.
Very different. Too bad I can't come visit you. We could go to
Aus Liebe Zum Duft and then tea shopping!

I've had a look at "the cofee club" but they do'nt seem to be specialised in tea.

There were only one "english tea" and 4 flavoured teas... it must be different from in the uk... or it wasn't the good shop.

I'll have a look next time.

If finally found the shop called... rituals.

I've even seen it before but I tought it was a cosmetics shop selling green tea (suppose to be miracle tea of course).

Well, I entered and found beautiful teacups but a bit too expensive for me (6 euro) but there were only expensive flavoured teas (6euro for 40g).

I think I looked a bit stupid in the shop. That was a pretty cosmetics shop and I'm a long haired student with a big backpack...

Well, finally I prefer going to classical tea sellers that have a wide range of loose leave teas.

Ha! Well I understand that. They do have some cool teaware, I have that silver Rituals cup. They just have a couple of amazing teas, but definitely not a place to find a selection of good loose leaf teas.
