Wednesday TeaDay 4/15/09 Flip flop?

by Chip » Apr 15th, '09, 00:28

Happy TeaDay everyone. Please stop by and share what is in your cup today.

Yesterday responders offered a lot of different answers to the question, "what kind of cook are they?" You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. We flip the question from yesterday in part 2 of this "seemingly" non tea related topic, or is it. Stay tuned. So today we ask, which would you most prefer to prepare your next dinner?

I am as always looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone! Bottoms up.

I like to eat...a lot...and those fancy chefs you see on TV always make up these little tiny plates that look artistic and don't have enough food on them to feed a fly. Give me the mess hall cook. It won't be pretty but you won't go away hungry either.

I chose Iron Chef- I would love to watch the Iron Chef and the challenger prepare my meal with a fun secret ingredient (tea??). I would also like to chose my fellow panel/judge members.

I pinged to the other side of the spectrum (if you can call it that) on this one and went with BBQ/grillmaster. I don't have a grill, and I love grilled food as well as BBQ, but it's one thing I actually hadn't had a lot of in the last few years... of course, I'd probably get tired of it quickly. Maybe not, I've seen those shows where they cook just about everything on the grill...

Anyway, a large order of pu'erh finally arrived yesterday and so I'm going to be cracking into that stuff for the next couple weeks to sample everything. Today, I'm trying the only shu that I ordered -- a 2008 Menghai "Da Yi Hong." I can honestly say this is the first pu'erh I've had that makes me understand the "biscuity" or "doughy" comments in the aroma. Very nice!

BBQ King/Queen!

I compete in BBQ competitions - I also need to fill up our freezer right now. :) A table full on good pork, brisket, chicken, and ribs would be very nice.

I'm starting the day with Maharani Estate darjeeling.

Just a cook - a good cook. Neuvo cousine is lost on me.
I mostly prefer simple meals, like a good steak.
Although I have to say if Martin Chang wants to cook
me up his signature shrimp, that would be fine by me.

Tao of Tea Neela in my cup this morning.

Have a nice day everyone!

After careful consideration I thought I'd give the chef wannabe a chance.

Meals cooked by good friends are always better.

I have received a new Keemun (Mao Feng Xiang Luo). Interesting with a stronger taste than my usual Mao Feng. Despite its relatively high price, it is already sold out.
Upton sells some but I have no idea how it compares to the one I have.

Chad, you would be welcome at my house anytime!
Irish Breakfast this morning. Today I was a bad mommy and let my 9-year old have some, too!

Iron Chef... but I want to choose the theme ingredient!

I'm trying a sample of tropical mist green this morning.

For a Wednesday dinner I picked chef wannabe. I have too much going on during the week to want to be terribly distracted by food; a little distracted sounds just about right.

Se Zhong Mao Xie TGY from Jing in my cup this morning.

My wife, a fine cook... oh wait she is! Spaghetti Bolognese, just the job!

Matcha, matcha and more matcha so far today! I've also placed an order for some Kiri no Mori and Organic Kaoru from O-Cha for when my limited supply runs out!

Jack :D
