Monday TeaDay 4/20/09 Chinese tearoom OPP?

by Chip » Apr 20th, '09, 00:10

Good Monday, I hope, everyone. Welcome to TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup with us.

Yesterday a vast majority of responders indicated they were currently very very very interested a new tea. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. An interesting opportunity comes your way. A Chinese member of TeaChat has offered you the chance to partner with him/her in a long established and profitable family tea room in China with a very minimal investment except you must move there and become an active partner, learn the language, everything! WOULD YOU DO IT? He/she needs the answer NOW. Yes or no. Please share why yes ... or why not.

I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone, will I see you in China? Bottoms up.

No moving to China for me. I love the USA. I might consider a vacation home, but I guess that wasn't the question. So no. Besides hubby would never agree. Maybe it if was a partnership in a cigar factory in Cuba. :)

Even if I knew the person really well, no. Maybe if I were older and retired...

I picked up with the session of tai ping hou kui that I started yesterday morning.... I had suspended it to try Menghai 7582 in the afternoon. All good stuff.

I don't know the language or the culture, so I wouldn't take him upon the offer.
On the other hand, I would consider being a remote partner if the investment was small enough.

Upton's Spring Dragon this morning.

I hear ya Geek!
Besides, although I consider myself adventurous and spontaneous, I would not feel comfortable living outside the USA.

Um, no. I spent a lot of years studying China from the geo-political side of things. The next 2-5 years are going to be real interesting.

I'm working on my second mug of Lumbini Estate tea.

Afraid not. Now, if it were Japan... I'd think about it. In general, though, I'm happy being in Canada.
