Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay. Please stop by our virtual TeaRoom and share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday responders' top pick was "I own more than one Yixing and use them regularly." You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Since it is the weekend, do you drink more tea on the weekends? Would you say the tea times are "higher quality?" Please share.
I am mst certainly looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. And bottoms up!

I drink more tea on weekdays, but better quality tea on weekends. On weekends I drink less but enjoy it more. I think I'll have pinnacle gyokuro with breakfast.
BTW, yesterday I tried powdered Benifuki tea from Maiko tea because I wanted to see if does help suppress hay fever symptoms. I believe I felt a lessening of the tightness in my lungs. Conversely, I felt no affect whatsoever when I was drinking Yutaka Midori. One other thing that I noticed about the Benifuki is that after about three hours when it was supposed to wear off I did start coughing and hacking.

I usually do get more opportunities to drink tea on the weekends (more infusions of my tea, etc), but now that it's getting very beautiful outside, that might change. I don't really alter the type of tea I drink, though. . .
This morning, I tried an overnight steep of the nan jian phoenix tea I had started yesterday evening. It either didn't work that well, or the tea is really on its last legs...

i have more time to brew and *enjoy* my tea on most weekends. depends on my schedule which can be as busy as during the week. i'm going to leisurely brew some sencha in a bit and sip and relax with it. tomorrow, i'm golfing with my ladies 18 hole league and need to get up and get going just like a weekday. so maybe iced tea when i get home since its supposed to be near 90!
still waiting for my sincha....

With a young child, an energetic dog and a schedule in which every minute seems wedged in between the others, my weekday teas tend to be hearty and forgiving (although this doesn't always translate to worse). I am more prone to blacks in order to keep me going through our marathon days. I never have time do gong-fu. So on weekends I can reach for my tricker teas (like yellows) or teas that I like to have time to enjoy (like a white or alishan) and my gong-fu equipment and have at least one session while my husband takes over the parent role for a bit.
I have often wanted the weekend to be a day longer

About the only difference is that I'm likeliest to reserve new teas for the weekend, because that's when I can devote my full attention to preparing and enjoying them.
The teas I take to the office are almost always teas that I've prepared before and am familiar with.

The weekend gives me a possibility of visiting a tea shop or two, hopefully that I haven't been to before. Today it will depend on what my husband wants to do, but we'll see.
This morning in my cup is what was called an "extra long golden tippy" Yunnan tea. And it is indeed yummy and full of aroma. It's a beautiful Saturday, I'm already running late for an event... but well, I'm enjoying this tea

I drink about the same amount of tea on weekends but the quality is better. I am more likely to use my yixing or kyusu to brew and more likely to have a matcha session or two.
One of the things I look forward to about the weekend is a leisurely green tea start which is, in fact, what I am doing right now with my old friend 2008 Yutaka Midori.
