Great TeaDay to all. Welcome to TeaDay. Please stop by and share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday most responders indicated they would have a tearoom of their dreams if they were very rich. The discussion was very interesting. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. And last but not least!!! Teaware of course. If you were rich, very rich, would your teaware be significantly different? Yes, no, maybe. Please share how it may differ with us. Photos optional.
I will be looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone today. And bottoms up!

I'm pretty happy with what I have now and feel very little interest in acquiring new teaware.

Ultimately, I would definitely invest in finer tea ware. It's not so much that I need higher quality tea ware, for I'm quite content with what I have now. I just need more of it, since I'm pretty much limited to one gaiwan, one small teapot, and two cups right now. I just need to pack lightly in the meantime, since I'm a college student who has very little storage outside of his dorm. Can't hog all of my dad's storage with tea ware he'll never use, heh. The long hair and liberal arts major are more than he can stomach already, an extensive collection of tea ware might put him over the edge
Enjoying some Yunnan Gold right now. It may be my favorite black so far

Yes, pretty sure - I would likely pick up a few more pieces if I had more storage space. Like a nice silver kyusu. More Hagiware and some collectible chawans. Oh and more lacquer ware and canisters. How fun it would be to shop for all that without looking at the prices.

I do have some beautiful teaware, that I wouldn't trade in or trade up. But there are some pieces out there by artists that I love, but whose work is beyond my means. Also, like Victoria mentioned, some silver, some urushi lacquer items. So not change, exactly, but definitely some purchases.

I just use a glass pot and ordinary mugs so there's definitely room to upgrade...I'd be buying a gaiwan set, lots of tasting cups, a kyusu, some yixing pots and yummy cinnamon bun hagiware!

Oh yeah I would. First thing: Sorapot. Second thing: a whole mess of velocity molo. Then some glass chawans. Probably some hagi. A Kuro Raku Chawan. Modern styled stainless stuff like WMF stuff. Probably find some nice white porcelain stuff. And the list goes on.

Nope. I'm pretty happy. The pieces I like most are the handmade ones I've purchased off etsy at prices nearly anyone could afford.

Indeed. I would certainly invest in more teaware. Antiques, probably.

If money were no object, I'd be travelling to Japan and handpicking everything that I wanted, especially when it comes to Hagiyaki! Although I do like some Imari, Sometsuke, and Shonzui.

I think not. But then, I'm not wealthy! I guess I'd fall into the buy what's convenient and what I "want" and don't worry about the cost mindset...but I would hope that would not be the case.
Margaret's Hope darjeeling today.
