I agree. I have similar shui ping pot from Chen and it has already started to season very well even though I haven't used it often. When I take the lid off, the clay inside the pot smells really good. I have used it for gong fu blacks like Yunnan Gold and Sichuan gong fu tea.

Thanks! I just bought the one in the picture. It's 150 ml which is the maximum size to squeeze in my little table, but the clay seems pure, and it looks beautiful, and so on.

What pour rate are you getting with the 150 ml pots from Chen?

Yes, it's 150cc pot from Chen.

I wonder in their website they stated:
All products must pass our six step quality control inspection before shipping

The twist gives it character, like a prize fighter with a broken nose! Gotta love that pot.

Maybe you can sand or file it so it's even?

If the pour is good, I would leave it alone. But if the $99 pots have the same details... I would ask Chen for a clear answer.

Don't try to "fix" it. Because you can't. You'll only damage it. If you can't tolerate the problem, maybe you can exchange it.

However, I have a nice little pot made by a young Yixing potter and it has a slightly angled spout, too. But it has a 9" pour rate, one of the best "ring" tones of any pot I have, character and I like it a lot.
