This summer I have lots of vacation responsibilities.

I picked Tea Vacation because July is dedicated to tea. My priorities are as follows:
Chaozhou -- Dancong
Wuyi -- Yancha
Jingdezhen -- Porcelain
Zhangzhou -- Oolong cakes
more places if I have time.

August, I should be going on a cruise! (In a friend's 19ft 'yacht.' Am very excited because I haven't been sailing in more than 2 years)

After the 'cruise,' I will be going to the mountains.

Some Dancong this morning will do the trick.

Maybe journey to a larger city ... course most cities are larger than Gainesville!

I think I may start going from cooked pu to shincha green for a few weeks.

Big city also...got some Braves tickets at the end of June so will make the 3 hour trek North to Hot' Lanta for a week or so. Wish the Sox (red) were playing, but beggars can't be choosy. Gonna watch the Phils and Braves instead.

We may be going to Japan next month, but not sure right now. If so i'll probably bring back a suitcase of green tea.

Not sure about vacations yet- starting to think about it but nothing big this year. last summer I won a grant and went to Costa Rica- 5 days on the grant and an 8 day adventure tour after-

This summer DH and I will probably go away for a few weekends to golf- close by but far enough that we'll stay the night- Williamsburg might be one...

...so didn't do the the poll- not sure which best fits golf- its not national parks or disney maybe the shore- somewhat sports related like omegapd (Nats fan here- well trying anway  )but its not about the city...

I am liking the Ocha tea bags when I travel.

More Ocha YM sincha this am- with time for a 3rd steep :D
cheryl :)

I will look forward to copious notes of your holiday discoveries.

Have you pieced together any more parts of the DanCong fragrance groups puzzle.
Best wishes from Cheshire

In my cup and garden

by Herb_Master » May 9th, '09, 07:17

In my cup today Dong Ding from Zen8Tea

In my Garden

The Rosemary is blooming

Image

The weeds??? are bountiful

But what is a weed, if you don't sow/plant it AND don't want it! These are self sown but I decided to leave them!

Poppies that MUST have come from a neighbour's garden 40 yards away.
Image

now growing everywhere in nooks and crevices in all my pathways as well as the garden.

and also though I planted 2 Cornflowers - I now have 20!

Salsero -- great picture of the 12 Gentlemen Chun Ya Shen Yun. I just got a cake (well, it should have been 2, long story) and have really been looking forward to trying it, given all the statements people have been making about how great it is. Unfortunately it's a little low in the queue of things to sample! Hm, maybe I can bump it up...

And Herb Master -- wish I had some nice space to plant some stuff outside. Right now I'm stuck w/ my window sill, which doesn't seem to be enough sunshine for some seeds that I planted a month ago. :(

Anyway, onto the poll! I said nearest shore, which happens to be about a mile or two east of me. I suppose I might go somewhere else on vacation, but the idea of just taking it easy for a week or two and going to the beach sounds pretty good.

In my cup this morning: infusion 6 (and more) of a 12 Gentlemen, but this is their 2006 Da Bai Hao, a sheng. I'm not sure that this tea is showing me anything that I haven't tasted before, but it does it very well.

Hi, I'm new to TeaChat. I'm planning a trip to Vermont and would like to visit tearooms along the way. Any suggestions?

You truly are the Herbmaster! You should build a teahouse in the midst of that beautiful garden.

RE Dancong types, I haven't done any more research in this vein. Having myself only sampled Dancong teas from one or two groups, I don't yet see the practical application of this sort of classification. However, I am interested in further research in this area, partly because I hope to visit Chaozhou in July and also because my personal experience does not allow for a worthy conlusion either way.

If you have any insights or questions which might provide guidance to me for further inquiry or exchange, start a thread, PM me or e-mail me.

Welcome to TeaChat!

I am going to be coming back from China and should be in Vermont at some point around the beginning of August. If you want, maybe we could meet for tea. Either way, I think there is a teashop in Burlington, but like Chip said, check out TeaMap.

My dream would be to go to Yosemite and this summer and climb this famous giant,
Image
But I will be with my family rapidly climbing and descending this giant instead:

And I am not complaining, it will be nice to spend time with them.
