Greetings fellow tea aficionados! Please come on in and share what is in your cup today!
Yesterday an overwhelming number of responders indicated they would be spending time at their TeaTable versus spending greenbacks at a Tearoom! You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. From the time you hop out of bed, how long does it take to enjoy your first sip of tea? Please discuss.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Less than 30 minutes usually. Not a morning person so I really need the
first cup to wake me up.
Wish it could be in "minutes" like with the ease of setting a coffeemaker the night before. Wow that would be great. But I'm slow to get it made sometimes.

Within an hour I would say, I like to wake up a little and have some breakfast before I have tea.
Yesterday I was in London and decided to pay a visit to the highly rated bar and shop Teasmith at Spitalfields market (http://www.teasmith.co.uk) I'd just like to say that I was blown away by this place, everything was done right! High quality tea, brewed perfectly in front of you by friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had four infusions of Shan Lin Shi, a lightly roasted oolong, and I left after buying a gaiwan and some Baozhong. I am now officially an oolong convert!
If anyone here happens to be going to London any time soon, you have to check this place out!
Started the day with Baozhong, will probably have some Yutaka Midori shincha later!

I'm having my first cup of tea w/in minutes of waking up. I head straight to the kitchen, start some water boiling in the kettle and also start some water boiling on the stove for some oatmeal.
I got back from DC late last night (or this morning), so I sacrificed a half hour of morning prep time in order to get another half hour of sleep. I also decided to rebrew the pot of rou gui that I had gotten to infusion 5 before leaving... eh, I should have started a new tea!

Nilgiri Coonoor 2009 - It's ok, but not going to be a favorite.
Have a nice day everyone!

Drax, I do about the same thing except I boil enough water for my tea and oatmeal together in a pan. Oatmeal and tea go together so well for breakfast. I think thats why I started makeing teabags tea a long time ago is because I had some tea bags and thought, why don't I just boil a little more water and wah-lah.Drax wrote:I'm having my first cup of tea w/in minutes of waking up. Also they have so many different instant oatmeal flavors that I don't get bored with it everyday.

Im the same way when I drink puerh.Less than 3 hours for me, my stomach can't handle tea before food so I have to eat first.
Within 30 min for sure!
I'm up at the same time every day (5:30); I start water heating for tea and then oatmeal within 15 min of rising. Lovely morning here - one of many small blessings for which I am most thankful.
Mint tea to start, with Keemun fast behind.
