European documentary on Japanese tea

by TokyoB » May 17th, '09, 11:18

These videos show tea farming, harvesting and processing in Japan. The second part starts at a temple with monks drinking matcha. These were done with Mellow Monk but no advertising, etc. These are probably the best videos of the sort I've seen so far (I have no ties to Mellow Monk or anyone else). They were filmed for a documentary for European TV.

Cool thanks for the awesome find! I like how the temple had no electricity, yet the monks had a zoji... hehe.

Glad you enjoy them - I did too. I meant to give credit to "Tea Guy Speaks" where I saw part 1 posted.

Really liked the documentary, while searching for more about tea I found this.

Not only about tea, but a 6 minute video featuring an American being invited up to a small private tea farm by an 80 year old farmer of some sorts. The farmer is really sweet, not to mention in amazing shape hehe. Thought I would post it, it put a smile on my face at least.

Fantastic, just shows what staying active, having a good diet and drinking lots of Japanese green tea can do for you!
