Does anybody here keep bonsai?
The local Borders was selling this book for $8.
I do not, so I can't tell you how good of a guide it is, but it's a pretty awesome purchase just for the pictures.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass that along... I'm definitely looking at my jade plant in a different way now, though!
Cool! Got any photos? (:iannon wrote:i do! i may have to check it out at my local store..the borders website still shows much more
thanks
I'm not sure if they had a stockpile of the books or what, but at the store near me, it was just out on one of the display shelves (2 or 3 of them) w/ a clearance sticker on it. Dunno if they had another pile somewhere or what...
How long have you been growing bonsai?

Last summer, I took a vacation along the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopped off at the North Carolina Arboretum. They had a huge bonsai exhibit, and it was the first time I had ever seen any. Some of the bonsai trees were arranged as bonsai forests, which was really impressive.
Forum rules prohibit posting photos or links; but checking their website indicates they still have the exhibit, so it may be worth a visit.

Re: Bonsai
I agree drax, it would be worth $8 just for the pictures. I have been into bonsai for 5 years now, Im currently working on some yamadori(wild collected) and garden center stock that wont be real bonsai for a long time but the wait makes it that much better.Drax wrote:Does anybody here keep bonsai?

I've purchased three bonsai from them and have been quite pleased.
They have a smaller selection of their plants listed on amazon, some of which qualify for free shipping.
