Wednesday TeaDay 5/27/09 How long between sessions?

by Chip » May 27th, '09, 01:18

Welcome everyone to TeaDay. Please come in and share what is in your cup today.

Yesterday most reponders indicated they had followed the inspiration of others in the TeaJourney. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. How long do you generally wait between your first and second session of the day? Please share why.

I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up.

Chain drinker here. I brew in bulk continuously through the day.
Currently White Symphony, no change expected.

If I have a second, it usually between 3-6 hours apart. My schedule is about to change significantly- school ends jun 5 and in summer I drink lots of iced tea.

For the summer, I keep cold herbal teas in the refrigerator for drinking since it's so hot outside. Depending on how thirsty I am, I can drink glass after glass (just like right now *sips on raspberry sangria tea*)

I used to stop at Starbucks on the way to work, but now I brew 16 oz. of the Cacao Mint tea from Teavana sweetened with sugar, pop it into a travel mug, add half and half, and take that to work with me where I nurse it for the first couple of hours I'm there. Otherwise, I don't drink tea again at work unless I'm about to keel over from exhaustion, then I'll grab one of the Fresh and Easy tea bags I have stashed in my desk. However, it is a last resort because since I tried loose-leaf tea, even the bagged stuff from Fresh and Easy tastes stale to me. Once I get my first order from Adaigo, I'll take the sampler tins to work with me and will most likely drink tea throughout the night.

My first session is in the morning. My session is when I get home after work. And I'm at work for 10 hours, so, easy voting for me, there.

I decided to go yet another round w/ that 1960s pu'erh... good stuff.

It depends.
On working days, I usually have one tea before leaving home and the next one about 10 hours later.
On the other days, I usually have two to three hours between teasessions.

Kanro gyokuro this morning.

Most days I chain-drink unless travel or work prohibit it. I have a decent set-up at work so I can brew there easily enough, but sometimes the work load just doesn't permit it. I have tea in the morning and then take some with me when I leave for work, just in case I can't brew again when I get there. I brew again as soon as I get home, and usually a couple more times before I sleep.

Sungma Organic FF Darjeeling to start the morning. Happy Tea Day all. :)

I fall between a chain drinker and 2 hours. I brew up a cup every time I take a short "breaky" thoroughout the day.

Margaret's Hope Darjeeling today.

Less than six hours.

We make a pot of black tea to go with breakfast, sometimes I'll have one mid-morning, often have iced tea with lunch, sometimes have another iced or hot tea mid-afternoon, depending on the weather, iced tea with dinner, sometimes green tea in the evening. Hmm, guess I should have voted less than four hours...

What sessions??

by Intuit » May 27th, '09, 09:28

Don't have daily "sessions". I drink tea twice a day, about 4 hours apart. Lately, I've had to resort to casual preparation (mug and infuser).

English Breakfast in the mug this morning.

I'm the lone one (so far) at "Less than 10 hours". But I have tea first thing in the morning before work and then usually don't have more until I get home around 5:30. On weekends, it is usually "Less than 3 hours" though. And "Less than 6 hours" when I have tea at work.

City Harvest Black today. It makes me feel like I've eaten one of the Russell Stover buttercream chocolate eggs MIL sent me for Easter. So good. Thankfully it is caloricly kinder.

I don't think there's too much of a pattern for me. Some sessions can be a good few hours between brews and some sessions don't skip a beat between one tea and the next.

I usually start with a few pots at home, then at work once I'm settled in I'll start up again. Today is an off day and I'm enjoying matcha.
