It was probably the great Japanese Temomi ... the runners up would also all be either Chinese or Japanese green, so I guess it is green tea hands down.

Houji-Kukicha, a roasted green… I like this tea because of its cute name.

Nice pic Sal, love the screen look in the background.

My favorite this month was a black. I've been hitting the FF Darjeelings
pretty hard as some of you know. Gopaldhara FF - From Cameilla Sinensis
(Darjeeling Oolong) - Was probably my favorite.

mmm... twig tea. Actually never tried it. Nice pic Sal, I love the steam in glass.

I've had a rough tea month. Tried a lot of teas I didn't like, several I did, and some of my standbys have finally run out. Looks like a trip to Serenity Art is in my near future for some High Mt Oolong. And I'm finally planning a trip up to Seattle, so I'll be able to finally go to FLT and back to NCTG. Yay!

Zencha's ``The Ultimate'' gyokuro was my best tea in May. Hou de's Ba Xian dancong is the runner up -- I haven't opened my Temomi or Zencha shinchas yet.

Ba Xian in my cup this morning.

Hou De 2005 Shui Xian

in

Shouzen Di Cao Quing Drop Ball

Tried this tea 6 months ago and was not impressed

This month it is an Elixir.

Has the extra age helped ?
Have my brewing skills improved ?
Or is it all down to the teapot from Chen?
Best wishes from Cheshire

I voted green because I didn't read the question completely.

Although green is my favorite category, the specific favorite tea I discovered this month has to be my first foray into pu-erh. I bought some mini-toucha from Upton and some 1st grade from Ten Tea, and I was blown away by them both. From reading the forum, I have a feeling I haven't experienced what the higher grades produce.

Still learning... still learning... I'll probably have Golden Monkey this morning.

It's been a green month here.

Sae Midori was in the lead against a Darjeeling green but yesterday introduced a nice long jing into the mix.

More long jing today.

I branched out with some new-to-me oolongs this month, but hands-down the best teas I had this month were some aged pu'erh.

Yet this morning, I am having some tai ping hou kui, brewed in a gaiwan. I've always enjoyed this tea.

It's going to be a great day. The weather is looking spectacular again, and we're going to have a cook-out after church. Mmmmmmmm.

My favorite this month is green. Ding gu da fang in first with Jiu Hua Fo Cha a close second. White was a bit disapointing this month I guess I don't like silver needles as much as shou mei or Bai Mu Dan. I think its just too light flavored.

Lapsang souchong this morning
