Things get really bad when I don't have caffeine. Whenever I order from Maiko, they give me these nice little packages of green tea pills. Works really nice when I need my fix and I don't have the opportunity to make tea. This has been happening a lot less though, since i've gotten my utiliTEA!! :P

Maybe lay off the tea/caffeine for a few days a week?

Or maybe just stick with Ed's plan

I've never experienced "caffeine withdrawal" with tea. I have noticed recently however that when I drink coffee, a little while later I often feel a strong sense of melancholy. This has become much more noticeable since I began drinking large amounts of tea, and I have spoken to someone else who has had a similar experience. Needless to say I have had very little coffee as of late.

Yes, it's very real. After I quit drinking coffee I had the worst headaches of my life for a week.

If reducing the caffeine you intake is your goal: You should decrease intake at a slow rate. Not all at once. Unless you enjoy headaches.

Caffeine withdrawal has never given me headaches. I get horrible headaches no matter what I do and always have (even as a kid when I wasn't even allowed to have caffeine).

It's weird. All the things caffeine is supposed to do to people, it doesn't do it to me. I can consume a ton of caffeine and go right to sleep. It does make me a bit jittery sometimes (especially in coffee).

Same here. I can soak every last one of my organs with caffeine then go right to sleep, and if I miss drinking tea for a day, which is rare, I've never noticed any headaches or anything... Many years ago, and before I had taste, I used to choke down quite a bit of coffee, I stopped completely, almost without meaning to, and never noticed any effects, positive or negative.

Caffeine Immunity - I think it's my super power.

However, I do think the act of making/drinking tea in the morning helps me wake up. I'm almost positive it's some kind of a placebo effect.
I feel healthier drinking tea, though. Sometimes after a cup of coffee, I would feel pretty gnarley, with tea, that's never happened to me.
