Happy Monday everyone.
Welcome to TeaDay, please share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday 90% of responders indicated the infomercial posters were likely spammers. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. This came up a bit yesterday. TeawareArtisans subforum has been here for a month, what are your thoughts about our newest addition to TeaChat and our newest bunch of members? Please share.
I am looking forward to TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up.

I think the Artisan forum was a great idea. Ive said before I love my japanese and Chinese tea ware but I also quite enjoy supporting our local potters as much as i can as well. the exchange of ideas for the artisans in the forum will give them some ideas im sure as well as i get to "hear" more of their ideas and "voices" that I didn't get just looking at their stuff on ETSY or wherever

I have enjoyed this addition to the forums. Sure, it has the potential to be mostly self-aggrandizing and have 'posts' that just amount to bumps, but at least it's all contained in one area.
TPHK this morning. It's always interesting to have a green after an extended period of having pu'erh or oolongs... and I mean interesting in a good way!

I was admittedly a bit leary when it first appeared. But, the subforum for the artisans has naturally become more than just a spot for the producers to post pics and link to their wares. They are all (so far) quite open to the opinions, suggestions and sometimes off-the-wall requests of the regular viewers. This means we are part of it and not simply passive recipients. This dynamic is what got me over my leariness of it.
I also love watching all our ceramic artists asking each other questions and talking about each other's work. It has become a very friendly, open and dynamic environment and I hope it remains so - or at least mostly so. What says it all, *I* think, is how many of the TeaChatters who follow that subforum refer to our newcomers as 'local' artisans despite them being in Hawaii, New York and in between - and feel a desire to support our local folks

I find the new sub-forum to be quite a positive addition. While I'm mostly lurking there for now, I may participate in the future.

I enjoyed it at first, but I have become a bit numb from seeing so much pottery. I appreciate Chip's efforts to bring some variety in with Geekgirl and Aaron Fisher (Wu De or Wu Wei Hai).

All positive in my opinion... a fabulous idea! I love seeing the pieces in progress, learning about the process, anticipating new pieces, and comparing styles. I've even sent some invitations to some of my favorite artists on Etsy to encourage more participation. I also enjoy knowing that the wants/needs/desires of TeaChatters may be helping to form new ideas in the artists, and that more quality tea wares are being produced locally.
I've been really pleased so far at the level of involvement and interaction from the artists who are participating. It's not a case of "here's a link, buy my stuff!" They are becoming active and involved in our tea community. And... the beauty of the subforum is... those who have no interest don't have to read it.
Some of last year's Jungpana Mountain Dew FF in my cup... trying to finish up odds and ends. It's still pretty nice.

Of course!
I am enjoying the TeawareArtisan forum quite a bit. It certainly adds a new dimension to TeaChat and an appropriate venue for these artistic and enterprising members. I am a fan!
When they were looking to share their wares in the general forum, it just never quite seemed to work out, but under their own subforum and with their own topic, members can easily decide if they want to check it out ... or not.
Began the TD with Kunpu from Den's in a Deishi kyusu. SweeTea wanted some of course, while Pyrit just enjoyed the company at the TeaTable.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

I've long been a fan of talented ceramists. This artisan forum is a good thing for TC.
