Greetings fellow TeaChatters. Please stop in and share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday responders indicated a tea glossary would be a good addition to TeaChat. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Which is most correct as to why you drink the teas that you drink? Please share your thoughts on this subject.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone ... and bottoms up ...

I enjoy what tea does for the senses. The zenness of the possible experiences is enjoyable, too, but in general, I go for the usual sensory experience.
I'm up a couple hours early waiting for my side to stop acting all goofy. It hasn't done anything in about a month, so I'm a bit disappointed to say the least. Maybe I'll get a couple hours more sleep yet...

Warmth! I just love having a warm cup in my hand, especially in the winter!!!
I got away from it for health reasons (caffeine vs. adrenals).
I came back because I convinced myself that matcha wouldn't kick the adrenals so hard...then back to blacks, because I convinced myself that the good far outweighs any potential bad!
In my cup this morning, Ceylon Kenilworth...this was a fav, but since I've discovered so much flavor in Vithanakande, Nilgiri and Assam...this one is tasting kinda plain.
Have an awesome tea day!

I started drinking tea in the winter to warm me up. Now I drink it because I like how it tastes (even if it means I have to knock the AC down a degree or two) and it relaxes me.
The church I work out is in the middle of a pertussis (whooping cough) outbreak. Fun. Last year around this time was lice.
EG for me this morning.

An aculturated habit
Scots family = born into tea drinking culture.
Early esthetic aculturation (avid book reading) = sophisticated tastes.
Early parental control of other beverages = forced adoption of preferences.
I like to drink tea, be it in an earthy morning mug or fancy-dance mid-day tea service.
Malty Assam blend in the cup.

I went with the history of tea for my choice. Really though, that's just what got me into tea. To be honest, I probably drink tea for a bit of all the reasons listed in the poll. The history, the culture, the leaves, the taste, the brewing, the calming... Pretty hard to just say it's all for one reason.
