by Chip » Jun 21st, '09, 02:14

Happy Fathers Day to our pops, dads, fathers!

Greetings and welcome to a TeaRoom TeaDay. Please come on in and share what is in your cup today.

Yesterday the majority of responders indicated they had 1-7 new harvest teas open currently. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaRoom Poll and discussion topic. Will your TeaDay be a road show this holiday and will tea be a part of it?

I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone today. Bottoms up.

Happy Fathers Day to our pops, dads, fathers!

My pop's in another state too far away, and I have no kids, so today's a "normal" day for me, which means staying near the homestead and enjoying tea!

The oolonog box showed up yesterday, so the next few days will be full of oolongs. I started with a ginseng oolong this morning because it fits well in my schedule to have a few cups while getting ready for church. I will be trying heatwaves' Royal selection this afternoon when I have much more leisurely time... looking forward to it!

It's business as usual over here since Father's Day is in November.

I'm starting off today with silver needles. Was hoping for some quality time on my balcony this afternoon but it started raining not long ago. I'm depressed

To all you fathers on the forum who get celebrated today-a happy day to you. =)

Happy Father's Day!

We are taking my father down to the Fingerlakes wineries for the day and making some nice grilled salmon for dinner. We got him a small wine fridge as a gift to replace the one that died recently so the goal for today is to get a few bottles to put in it. Not that we don't already have a large wine rack that is half full, but there is always room for me. Of course, I will have at least a travel mug of hot tea and a water bottle of cold-brewed green tea for the journey.

Currently in my cup is an asamushi sencha brewed with more leaf that yesterday. It is a little on the strong side, but much more flavorful than the first attempt.

CinnamonKitteh: So that mystery bag turned out to be asamushi??? :o Is it good qualitea?

O-cha Fukamushi Supreme for me this morning... one of my all time favorites. (As opposed to YM which is going in the trash). :)

LOL @ Ed... gotta love variety as the spice of life... so interesting how one person's trash is another person's treasure. I just ordered 3 more bags of YM. :D

I answered Road Show with tea in tow... but in truth, my parents' home is as much home to me as the place I pay the mortgage on. I have teawares, hot water kettle, and a variety of good teas waiting for me at their house all the time, since I am there so often. I usually throw some additional teas in a bag to take along when I go so I can have whatever I'm craving.

This morning... the magically delicious Yutaka Midori shincha a la O-Cha... and I have some Darjeeling with orange zest waiting for iced tea throughout the day... I am absolutely LOVING this, which is strange as I didn't care for the Orange Blossom Oolong and I *hate* lemon in my tea. But the orange zest in Darjeeling is subtle, soft, refreshing, and is rocking my world on these hot days. I highly recommend you try it!

After a bit more lazy time, I'll be off to the kitchen to make some fresh apricot pies for the best Daddy in the whole world. Happy Father's Day to every dude out there. :)

Road show with tea in tow! For me today
Big BBQ in the park and all that, although the day
looks to be very overcast. In CA we have what is
referred to as June Gloom, and it has never been more
prevalent than this year.

Started the day with Lingia Estate FF Darjeeling.

Happy Father's Day Everyone!

Made breakfast for DH (homemade pork sausage, biscuits, gravy and tea). So I at least got tea to start the day.

We're headed out in a few minutes to the local Six Flags (amusement park) so he can spend the day on roller coasters. I don't "do" roller coasters, so I'm bringing the new camera and I'll spend the afternoon playing with it!

I will be glad to get back later to a big glass of iced tea...forecast is for a heat index of 100+ degrees F (for all you C folks, that translates to    HOT

Good wishes to Dads the world around!!!

Have a great day,
Dreamer

Nice photo as usual, Sal. I like the simplicity of this one, plus the added bonus reflection in the background. :D

We're just hanging out today, it's our first day of U-Pick Cherries, so we will have cars coming and going all day. It's windy and trying to rain, but people are still showing up.

My DH is getting pot roast, potato pancakes, and Rhubarb Custard Cake for Father's Day. My dad lives in Colorado, so I'll be calling him soon.

Irish Breakfast in the cup this morning.

Happy Father's Day
to all you father figures out there!
