Hi,
I have a 160ml kyusu and sometimes I wish I had an even smaller one. Does anyone use such small kyusu(s)? The smallest I saw was a 120ml at yuuki-cha. 120-100ml would probably be just about right. I would use it for sencha, so not looking for a hohin or too flat pot.

Houjins are often in this size range. No handle though.
Also, just because your kyusu holds a max of 160 ml does not mean you have to ill it al the way. Generally, I rarely fill a kyusu more than 3/4 full. But some I fill less, even half. The tea never complains since it is green.
And last resort, many Japanese sites will get one for you if you ask.

I know I could easily fill my 160ml pot 50% and get good results. But below 75% the tea starts to stick at the upper half. Not a problem if you swirl the pot though.
I guess I just like to have the pot "fit" the cup/amount I'm interested in. Otherwise its like wearing clothes that are too big. Maybe I'm crazy, does anyone share this idiosyncrasy?

Careful pouring btw will reduce the dreaded tea leaf clinging all the way up the side of the pot, but I still do have to tilt the pot to get all the leaf back in the water for successive steeps.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Yes! Of course it could just be another excuse to buy yet more teagear.beachape wrote:I know I could easily fill my 160ml pot 50% and get good results. But below 75% the tea starts to stick at the upper half. Not a problem if you swirl the pot though.

TokyoB
I use a 150 ml pot that I purchased from Rikyucha that I love and use. It works well for asamushi sencha, but the fuka clogs it up too much. I think it fills about 1.5 to 2 cups worth of the cup in the picture when completely filled. When it is completely filled, it dribbles terribly so I don't fill it up all the way.
