Thursday TeaDay 6/25/09 Best guestimate balance 2009?

by Chip » Jun 25th, '09, 02:00

Good TeaDay TeaChatters. Please come in and share what is in your cup today.

Yesterday responders indicated how many TEA vendors from whom they received tea in 2009 so far. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. We take yesterday's topic, and switch it around. So, for the balance of 2009, your best guestimate of how many vendors for TEA you will use. Please share possible highlights or goals in future tea purchases. Is there ONE vendor you really want to try?

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

I'm guessing 6...the same local shops over again and a couple of online orders Dragon Tea House almost for sure because they have some teaware I want and interesting teas to round out the order with. I'm also looking at Tea Emporium (the Darjeeling one), Floating Leaves Tea, Tea Habitat, and Thunderbolt Tea...but there's no way my tea budget will let me order from all of them so I'll have to pick one or two...It's okay though, I can't drink all the tea I buy as it is..I have a few packages sitting around for almost 2 years now

I'm missing the apple blossoms...a few windy days took all the petals away. :(

But I still have pictures :)

Yep crab apples in August-September...this year probably more like September. They're delicious :)

I've been going full throttle so far this year, so it's time to pull back a bit. I only expect to make one or two more large purchases this year. The rest will be onesies and twosies...

This morning, I needed a quick brew, so am going with some tai ping hou kui brewed in a gaiwan. Great stuff!

I voted two since I've already made so many purchases and need to keep it down a bit and finish what I have. Any further buys will most likely be to restock what I liked best.

Today I brought my matcha gear in to work, I'd like to see what it can do for my energy levels. I'm NOT a morning person.

No new vendor I want to try - I'm trying to pare them down,
but I'll be re-ordering from:
Floating Leaves Tea
Tea Masters
Camellia Sinensis
Adagio

I'm sure I'll order from Jing Teas Shop later on and I'll add one
to be safe.

Starting my morning with the last of my 2009 FF Lingia Estate.

Beautiful pictures Herb Master and entropyembrace!

I've already used more than 10. I'll be using well more than 10 between now and the end of 2009 as well.

In my cup this morning: Medium LiSan Oolong by Fang Gourmet Tea.

3 so far. I am planning on trying Den's and yuuki-cha but I have so much dang tea to drink still. I bought 4 g of Ito-en Makinohara sincha the other day, That'll keep me busy for awhile :)

I must look into a career that allows me to stay home and drink tea all day while musing over a book.

O-cha Yutaka Midori Sincha today :)

Nice flower pictures today! Thanks.

As for teas, I expect I will get over ten vendors by the end of the year probably ordering from the same old same old.

Few more, maybe.

by Intuit » Jun 25th, '09, 09:44

Couple more vendors, maybe Funalliance, Teasource and DragonHouse. Won't be for a bit yet, maybe just an odd tea here or there (whites, oolongs) in the meantime.

Mint tea to start my day. Followed by Formosa Oolong Superior, then a med roast TKY, sencha will follow later on.
