This claybody/glaze combination never ceases to fascinate me. It does wonderful things in the wood kiln, lots of color modulation and cool crystal growth! You can see a better description and alternate views here

Well hello folks, it's been a while. I thought I'd stop in to share a piece from a recent group of work I created that was sort of inspired by a thread here on TeaChat regarding raku ware. I used a very simple, completely non-toxic glaze on this ware. It's been completely glazed, foot and all, by dipping four times, so the glaze is quite thick. This made it necessary to stilt the pieces in the kiln so the would not stick to the shelf, but I thought the extra step was worth it so that there was no exposed clay and would reduce absorption of moisture. Although I'm certain there is some moisture being aborbed into the clay, it seems to be very minimal and the ware certainly does not leak. I've been using one of these and the interior has developed a really nice patina in the cracks, I'll try to snap a photo of it soon.

I'm glad you liked the video Moss! Beware, clay is VERY addictive so if you start, don't ever expect to finish. There are literally lifetimes worth of things to explore with it and it's a wonderful journey
