Um, it's well known that placed in a good storage environment, a traditionally stored tea will gradually lose the white coating and the smell from the storage. Properly done, for those who are not well acquainted with traditional storage they might not know it's been through that. For people who've drunk enough to know, it's still very obvious.
This just sounds like complete BS to me - mostly because the original premise here is that moldy storage = terrible, but that's not true at all.
