San Francisco

by beforewisdom » Feb 4th, '15, 22:07

Hi all,

In a few weeks I will have a free day in downtown San Francisco.

Is there anyplace where I can get a cup of authentic Japanese green tea?

- not out of tea bag
- made properly
- green, green tea
etc ...

Thanks

Kissako Tea in Japantown (1581 Webster St) serves japanese green teas. They have mochi, onigiri, and also bentos I think. You'll find them at a kiosk/hut looking setup with cafe tables and chairs just under the curved stairs. The teahouse inside Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park sells tea by the cup: sencha, jasmine, matcha, genmaicha.
