Hi Everyone!
Recently, I visited a shop in Snohomish WA that was so wonderful, I almost spent my entire Christmas budget. LOL! I bought so much I was afraid the airline would charge me a fee for my carry on.
I am looking forward to learning much here .

Sam, I am in Galveston. We are trying to get back in shape here for everyone to come back down to visit.
Victoria, I bought pounds of, Hot Cinnamon by Harney and Sons, Christmas Tea (can't remember what all is in there, but it smells wonderful), Candy Cane (peppermint and bing cherry), and a Plum something that a friend has right now, from a great shop called Everything Tea. Snohomish is a nice town and one of the friends I went to visit lives there.
We also went up to the San Juan Islands, to Friday Harbor and I visited a Lavender Farm there and brought back Lavender Tea, Lavender sugar, Lavender lemonade and Lavender cookies for everyone at home. LOL.
We aslo went to Pike Place Market in Seattle and I bought Market Spice Tea and intended to visit again, but we ran out of time.
Thanks all for your warm welcome. I know I am going to learn lots and enjoy all of you.

Wow Sheila you did buy a lot! Your lavender sugar sounds very intriguing, although I'm not a big lavender fan. Fan of the color, the the scent gives me headaches. I'm more of a violet girl, I know they sugar violets, but I have never seen violet sugar ... but I digress. Sounds lovely. Congrats on your haul!!

Victoria, truth be told....I am not much into Lavender either. LOL My friends were so excited about taking me to this farm that I figured I could get many of my gifts right there and make my friends happy in the process. Airport security was also very intrigued by Lavender sugar. It came in glass jars and threw them for a loop, had to check out my contraband. LOL!
Violet does sound interesting. We used to buy violet candies when I was a child and I loved them. As I get more and more into this new found adventure, I would love to try many kinds of tea and many flavors.
I am much more excited about the strong cinnamon flavors I found. Others I have tried had only a faint hint of flavor and each time I was so dissapointed, but this time, I found exactly what I had been looking for in the Harney and Sons, Hot Cinnamon. Yayyy!

Ohhhh I love Violet Pastilles - you can still find them around. I would be more inclined to sprinkle lavender sugar on buttered toast than to put it in tea. Or sprinkled on cookies or cake with white frosting.
As a whole I have moved away from flavored teas - because really you are hiding the beautiful flavor of the tea. And the tea they use in flavored teas is not the best quality. That being said, I still enjoy a cup of cinnamon or spiced black on a cool evening. Now I'm just picky about my leaves. As with cooking, it is always best to start with the best ingredients that would be great on their own, then add flavorings.
