Large glass teapot

OK, I am in love.... my glass teapot is one of my favorite brewing vessels. I just stumbled upon a gorgeous double-walled glass pot at Teavana... large, 25 oz. capacity... would be a gorgeous brewing/serving piece for a group for those who do any western-style brewing.

That is very cool! It would go so nicely with my bodum glasses. The size seems big to me now (wouldn't have when I first started brewing), but I have to make 28 oz every morning for DH's and my travel mugs so maybe I could tell DH it's necessary for our morning teas. Think he'll buy it? :lol:

However, I think the 20oz is too big and the 50oz... Well, I'm not rich enough to gong fu in that. :twisted:

I use a Bodum teapot with the same shape of the glass. It sits in a kind of metal tripod. I think of it as a large gaiwan :-)

But I can't find it on their webpages; maybe they don't sell it any longer.

Geek: I found the cylindrical version of that one. Basically like a beaker w/ a handle and that spring cap.

It works amazingly well.

The Mono comes in smaller sizes I have been debating on the 20oz size for awhile now:

I use a Bodum that is identical to Victoria's picture - but I don't use the inner basket. I use it when I want the tea leaves to swirl as freely as possible.

I think of it as a very large glass gaiwan :-)
