Anyone ever see Lonely Planet, used to be on The Travel Channel before being taken over by Discovery, now it is renamed and airs on PBS. Anyway, I always thought that would be so cool how they got right into the cullture on the level of real people.my fave host back when it was the lonely planet was the girl, can't remember her name, she's come back for a show here and there and then that guy with the british accent- always willing to give it a go. still watch. do you have a fave place from this show? i loved them all!
actually found maryland public tv dangerous to watch for local travel- saw an episode about a subarctic meadow here in md called cranesville swamp preserve in western maryland (near deep creek lake) so later that summer off dh and I went for a long weekend. also went to a bird santuary on the eastern shore from this show....
currently in my cup- margarita
Do cranes visit this swamp?
Adagio Fujian Baroque in my cup currently ... a most ungreen tea.
and yes, these crains visited!!

Well, better a crimson cup than a crimson crup, I always say.spot52 wrote:Carefully Crafted Keemun in my Crimson Cup. (along with a nice string of alliteration)
After thoroughly enjoying the ripe pu'erh from the 12 Gents, I broke open a 2004 Xia Guan Gold Ribbon Tuo, also from Andao. I can't say 5 years has done much for this tuo, but at $12, it was a good price (and apparently the last one). It's got the nice XG "kick" to the sheng. I'll be interested to taste it in 10 years.
I love the beach and everything about it... the ocean, walking in the sand, the waterfowl, sea creatures, and especially shelling. Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island are my fave seashore spots, with Sanibel Island running a very close 2nd! (Only because it takes a bit more planning to go!) However, there is nothing like shelling on Sanibel! It's awesome.Chip wrote:Where indeed? I have long and short lists, domestic and international. I suffer from analysis paralysis about such things and end up doing nothing it seems.Touching the redwoods and giant sequoias are near the top of the list, while Japan and China and other even more exotic Asian destinations are always on the short list. Tea would figure in no matter where it happens to be.

That being said, the beach is not one of Chip's fave spots, so my dream vacation would be anywhere with him, as long as he brings the tea.
