I also have an order on the way from FLT, a greener DongDing and Oriental Beauty, plus some samples of other oolongs. Owner is very nice, will have to find a way to migrate to her shop soon to meet her and try more of her teas.
No-name almond oolong in my cup. Fragrant and delicious.

I've made iced tea almost every day for probably the last two months. I just
combine the 2nd and 3rd steeps of whatever black I make in the morning and refrigerate that. It is great later with or without ice (sometimes I don't want the ice).
I've made iced sencha, but it didn't "do anything for me"...if I made it stronger then I didn't like the taste over ice...if I made it regular strength then it had no flavor when poured over the ice. I should try to make it regular strength and just chill it and see how I like it. I do like the idea of iced green tea...sounds so refreshing...that's why I've tried it quite a few times.
I also enjoy a couple of scoops of matcha shaken in a bottle of cold water...powerfully refreshing! I'm only likely to do this, however, when I'm on the run...like on a car trip.
This morning I enjoyed hot specialteas Vithanakande (I made iced tea and put in the frig...I'm waiting to hear from my daughter...she always comments that she doesn't like this one. She likes any other black that I make iced, but not this one.)
Right now I'm enjoying specialteas Tung Ting Jade Oolong from my order that came yesterday. I got a sample last time and liked it so much, I ordered more.
Hope you all have a great weekend,

It is a toss up between Darjeeling, Black, Green, and Herbal. I often have three or four batches of different iced teas going at once, most of them in water bottle sized batches with the one big pitcher full. I have about 6oz of second flush Darjeeling left over that I won't drink hot, but it works well iced. Flavored blacks are often mixed with the Darjeelings for a bit of fruitiness. I cold brew green tea in one of my Nalgenes and put some Mugicha in the other one. We go through lots of iced tea in my house, especially in the warmer weather.
Currently in my cup is Organic Monk's Blend.

Dang Cong Mango Frappe
Mix your Dang Cong with Mango sherbet or melon sorbet, top with a bit of grated orange rind for a delightful Florida afternoon treat.
Mmmmmm.
Kukicha for me tonight. Bought a better grade of organic bancha to try as an iced tea this afternoon. Not sure if it will work - worth a try, maybe I will make a mint sorbet with it.

No need to wait for hot weather; I drink iced tea all day/every day of the year.
Currently, I'm really enjoying greens on ice, but adagio's white peach is one of my favorite standbys.
As to add-ins, if it's unflavored tea, a pinch of mint &/or lavender added to the leaves is quite refreshing.
And I always use a bit of liquid stevia in the finished brew.

Herb_Master, I use both depending on my mood and what flower or leaf I am using. Mint leaves work well too and look great in green tea ice cubes! So does the blueof the borage flowers!Herb_Master wrote:Will your Borage Flower Ice Cubes be made with water, or cold tea?Mrs. Chip wrote:Borage florets look great in ice cubes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!depravitea wrote: I'm definitely with Herb Master on this one - Borage.
I use an unflavored black tea for my iced tea, which I have been drinking by the half gallon daily for the past couple of weeks now! I prefer black tea with no sweetener because what I am after is a crisp taste. If I am in the mood for something else then I'll make the "Champagne of the South," which is a sweet tea.
