Whois does list the Administrative/Technical Contact as
Moore, Kevin kevinrm@o-cha.com
KRM International Godougaisha
22 Kajimachi, Taira
Iwaki, Fukushima 970-8026
JP

Connecting Kevin R Moore with KRM International isn't too much of a leap, and, as many others already have mentioned, Kevin and his teas are well-known to TeaChatters.

I think you are safe ordering from O-Cha.

A "Godougaisha" is the Japanese equivalent of an LLC, we are a fully registered Japanese corporation as of several years ago. Before that, we had a USA corporation in the USA and moved here later. For some time, both companies were operating at the same time as there was some transitioning time involved.

We deal with people from all over the world in a zillion different time zones so we prefer to handle emails rather than phone calls. It might be the middle of the night here when it's the afternoon at the customer's place, etc.

I hope that clears things up.

I have a new shipment just arrived from O-Cha... resisting the urge to open it because the hour is late and the contents are gyokuro... and I would like to sleep at some point.

I have made a number of orders from O-Cha with 100% satisfaction in every aspect including excellent tea, careful packaging, quick shipping with never any opening or damage to packaging, and stellar customer service. I sample from other places for Japanese greens, but my go-to vendor is always O-Cha.

You live in Canada, right? I'm reading on their website that the EMS parcels they send up here tend to get nabbed by customs but the First Class Mail ones don't... Do you ship by EMS, and if so, have you had any major problems with or charges from customs?

I think it's safe to assume that many of us don't like Canada Customs.
I make several orders a year from O-Cha and have had no problems with them; 100% satisfaction. Shipments come via EMS to Canada without any issues with Customs thus far. Tea shipped from India is a different story. 50% of the time my India tea shipments have been slashed open by Canada Customs by the time they get to me with no attempts made to repair the damage. Acutely annoying with seemingly no accountability.

Like everyone else, recommended with no reservations... I've had consistently great experiences with O-Cha.

This thread should be closed in my opinion and the topic tagged as [resolved] or something.
O-Cha.com is one of the best and most reliable vendors for Japanese tea.

He has not been back ...

Ironically, this topic has played out well for O-Cha, lots of kudos.

More kudos for O-Cha :D . I only ordered from them once but it was very tastey fukamushi and nice tins. I would recommend them to everyone.
