Actually, I tried the Sae-Midori of 2015 from O-Cha.

I must say beforehand that I am not a fan of Sae-Midori and from my short experience with O-Cha I always think Chiran sencha is better. Sae-Midori Yutaka-Mirdori of 2014 didn't surprise me, but the Chiran sencha 2014 was GOOD.

Just my opinion.

It's only certain varieties, some turned out better this year than last. I wouldn't throw out the baby with the bathwater. This year's Sae is better for starters...

Update: From my tastings so far, I think 2015 will be a good year for Shizuoka green tea...

Is anyone else getting warnings about bad certificates on O-Cha.com?

I just tried -- seems fine. But I have found that the site loads very slowly in Chrome.

On the other hand, I am surprised that the shincha Kurasawa is out of stock already, even though it was just listed on the site a day ago.

Best wishes,
sherubtse

They are missing their chain and root certificates. Some browsers already have them in their trust store but some other don't (especially mobile devices). I am sending them an e-mail.

I wouldn't worry about it too much in the meantime - you can still order from a desktop and it probably won't report any warning. This issue is pretty common, and people only realize these days because the mobile devices don't have all the certificates chains already imported in their trust stores.

Right you are BEF, it was only an issue on my smartphone. The site works just fine on my computer.

What about Miyabi? Do you guys think I should get some of the remaining stock or wait for Shincha?

Since the 2014 Miyabi is not on sale, I would wait for the shincha version to come out (unless you are desperate for Miyabi, of course)

Best wishes,

So far, the Kyoto green teas (i.e. Miyabi) seem better this year than last, and ditto for the Shizuoka green teas. The Kyushu teas don't seem as good to me as last year. That's been my experience so far and I've heard the same thing from other buyers as well. Everything is on a case-by-case basis, of course.

I just opened up my first package of this year's YM shincha from O-cha and while I suppose I would agree that it's not as good as last year's shincha, it's still pretty darn good. For me, at least, it's well worth the purchase.

Drinking the Kirameki now, my favorite from O-cha last year. Tastes pretty yummy to me. Clean and subtle. Next time I'll use a little more leaf.

Great to hear! Can't wait for Miyabi to be available in Shincha form.

Hey Kevin,

can you recommend some tea to me for this year.

Just tried the Ureshino Tamaryokucha man that's a good tea. Anyone ordering should add that tea.
