*facepalm*

You know, guys...we really should look at the ITD membership roll once in awhile.

Proinsias has been a member of this august institution since its inception. He's one of the users I automatically added on day 1.

... and, dude, what's with the name? I can barely transcribe it, much less pronunciate it!

It's the Gaelic for Francis, isn't it? Scotch or Irish Gaelic, though...that's the question.

And just how *is* it pronounced? Gaelic's beyond my phonetic comprehension.

I was curious as to how I was able to post in a thread discussing me being allowed to post in that area of the site.

re Proinsias; I used it to sign up for something along time ago. Every name I tried had been taken and I didn't want a funny spelling or a 1234!!?OMG after my name. For some reason the comic Preacher came to mind and the best charter in it was the Irish vampire Cassidy, his first name was Proinsias and he kept it quite as he was ashamed of it - it turned out that if there was anyone else on the site I was registering for called Proinsias they too had decided to keep it quite.

Also I can't be bothered coming up with a new name.

The pronunciation I've heard from Irish people, and the name is about as Irish as names can be aside from being called 'Ireland', is something like Proin-Shass.

It would have really sucked if you were waiting on me posting to a thread I couldn't see in order to let me join in.

After a little browsing, and a little fear, I have added Wesli. A link from my site could easily generate another two hits on Wes's site over the coming year.
