Play around with the parameters. If it is oversteeped, either use less leaf, less time, or cooler water. I would try using cooler water (around 160F or so) first, but I would suggest experimenting with the other variables too.

Different parameters will work better with different sencha, but 160° (in a preheated pot) usually works out best for my taste on the first infusion. Also, when I measure 1.5 minutes (which is my typical first infusion time), that includes the time pouring the water into the pot and pouring the tea out.
