Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
I drink mostly tea during the day and into the evening, and haven't yet noticed any jitteriness. I do tend to drink it fairly dilute, but two to four sessions daily.

Am I the only one that gets jittery and a bit dizzy if I have tea more than once a day?
It depends on the day, Weekends I tend to have a bit more tea than usual. During the week (except for Fridays), its usually only a single tea a day. As for number of grams it depends on which teapot and or teacups I am using. It could be any where from 3-4 to 8-10 for sencha. Korean greens are generally slightly less around 5-6.
Earlier I enjoyed some Ikuyo-no-mukashi Matcha from Ippodo. I took pictures will try and get them uploaded and posted later.

Uji Sencha Otsuusan again this afternoon. It is 70 degrees here in Modesto California. What a nice day.

Tea can make me jittery if I go too long without food and load up on several teas at the same time ...
Finishing up current bags of Aoi, Gold, and Yutaka Midori ... and Gyoko-hou from O-Cha. All great greens and definitely worth reordering!

Just opened up Hachiju-hachiya from Maiko ... wooo, good stuff!
I am definitely agreeing with previously posted comments on TeaChat about newly opened bags of sencha needing time to "breath" again. I notice this time and time again when I open a new sencha. If I brew within a few hours after opening the bag ... I am not enamored nor satisfied with the results. However by the next day, I am able to achieve stellar results consistantly.
It is hard not to draw conclusions based on the results. Newly opened sencha-s (and gyo too) need to breath the free air once again.

You do close the bag again soon after opening it though, right? So you don't actually leave it open overnight, do you? I'd be afraid that would be detrimental to the freshness.Chip wrote:I am definitely agreeing with previously posted comments on TeaChat about newly opened bags of sencha needing time to "breath" again. I usually open the bag and put the contents in a double lidded tea canister. So there is brief contact with air which seems to suffice. I have not done excessive experiments on this but I do remember having found that some teas were better the day after opening the bag for the first time.

... yes, of course. I open the bag and divvy it up between two small 50 gram canisters and close.
I often leave the first session out to hasten the breathing if I want to drink it within several hours. But even still, the next day's session is better.

Miyazaki Hojicha
A wish of mine came true! I have always been a fan of den's tencha kuki houjicha, so when the first whiff of the brewing leaf hit my nose I couldn't help but smile
Very similar (in taste) to dens, but with the added depth of green bancha (?) in the mix. I won't say the yuuki-cha one is better, because the den's had something unique about it that this does not have, but it will be my replacement for that tea from now on since it is cheaper, organic, and from a vendor that's not such a struggle for me to find something that really appeals to my current tea perceptions.

Isn't that a criminal offense? If nothing else, it should be a forum rules violation.
I do not recall ever trying it this way.
Round 4 of Maiko's Hachiju-hachiya was very successful. I am wondering if kyusu selection has played a part in my diverse brewing results. I have been using two new Tokoname kyusu-s.

I was extra careful getting it started not to stew the leaves with the warmer water, but I seemed to have pulled it off wonderfully. Nice and vegetal, but not too astringent.
Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
