Re: The Other Kind of Hagi
Katsuragi had been unactive for a very long time and started its business again just when Kofudo closed. Maybe the owner sold his shop.chamekke wrote: I'm not sure, now that you mention it. They were certainly two different shops on eBay - plus the invoices for Kofudo (kofudo_jp) came from Junko Miyoshi and the invoices for Katsuragi (katsuragi_japan) from Yasuo Watanabe. However, they are both located in Tottori-shi of Tottori prefecture. So, maybe two outlets for the same company?
If I remember correctly, the Kofudo shop closed citing a generally unfavourable exchange rate with the US dollar and increased shipping costs. Katsuragi has continued, however.
Re: The Other Kind of Hagi
maitre-tea,
i suggest you look in ebay often. there are several offerings for other hagi artists that are from good to mint to new condition. a Yutaka Okada chawan offer just ended (buy now: $950 - went unsold) and currently a Shinjo Kanzan 13th chawan (with slight chip) is open to bid on. sometimes i see a ebay store i've not looked at before with a nice hagi piece, other times it's in the usual stores. but the more unique can be found.
