Yep, what Drax said!
And like Deprav' said the black-tea-with-a-morning-fry-up is awesome...especially the wonderful Yunnan Imperial (from specialteas) that I had with my eggs this morning!!!
And Japanese green, especially matcha, is great with dark chocolate!
Any Ceylon is great with pastries, cake, cookies or, mmmm-my-favorite-homemade-cinnamon-raisin biscotti.
#1 Rule: Don't waste good tea on mediocre food!
#2 Rule: When out, don't waste good food on mediocre tea!

Had the last part of a root canal this afternoon...a soon as my mouth wakes up enough to enjoy, I'll be having a bowl of matcha!

Happy Teasday, all,

Black tea, either hot or iced, goes best with food in my opinion. Cold brewed green tea goes nicely with lighter meals and oolongs can be good with oriental style foods, but most of the time, I have a black tea.

Currently in my cup is steep #2 of a STGFOP Assam. Surprisingly, it is still pretty good after the 20+ minute second steep from me forgetting about it. It is a little bit brisk, but tasty and not bitter at all.

I'd most often pick black as I seldom drink any beverage other than tea with any meal. I don't waste teas with really delicate flavors during meals, so blacks seem to be a natural choice. At mealtime, I will also drink later infusions of whatever is left in the pot, just to get extra mileage out of the leaf before I discard it. I enjoy anything roasty with foods, such as genmaicha or houjicha.

No tea yet today other than some restaurant iced tea at dinner after my expedition to the gastroenterologist. My tummy has never been so empty!
