I gave it a B. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to forums, honestly. I'm still miffed about my original username being lost in the switch--I've been a member since '06! Now I've got fake newbie status.

Sal, thanks for all the pictures! I'll miss them.

About to go make myself some Genmaicha Extra Green from Den's. It's that kind of day.

I've posted most of them in my Facebook account.

Thanks for your pics Sal, there have been some real gems in there! Much wallpaper worthiness. :)

I gave the new board a B rating. I really love so many of the new features, I would not want to go back. But the nagging problems still remain, I'm looking forward to the day when bugs begin to get fixed and we work towards that "A" rating!

In my cup this morning Japanese black from Yuuka-Cha.

Have a nice day everyone!

Don't know if we would all be as gracious as leiche2 if our identities and our posts on TC were obliterated. Thank you for still being a part of TC ... even with your 'fake newbie status'.

Silver Needle currently in my cup on a very busy day!
Have a TEArrific TeaDay everyone. 8)

There are still some bugs that are annoying:
the search function that doesn't returns all the posts
the accounts deleted
the postcount that doesn't increase when posting in teaday

I like however better the "view new posts" function. With the previous forum, every time I closed my web browser all posts were marked as read.
The possibility to see that an answer has been made to a topic during the time you actually wrote your answer and before submitting it is nice too, as well as the possibility to modify your vote in a poll.

Even with the bugs still to be fixed Teachat is always a great place to share about tea which is all matters to me.

Thanks Salsero for your pictures!

Kabusecha this evening.

I'm not too picky about forums, and as long as I can check it, that's fine by me. The only things that bother me, however, are:
1. The search function: it only goes back to right after the switch, but this is easily remedied by a google search, which is sometimes more convenient.
2. Email Alerts: Well, this just means I need to check TeaChat more vigorously in the day

Finishing up some Taiwan Shui Xian courtesy of Floating Leaves. A perfect fit for the cooling weather here in southern California.

Well, remembering that we're just grading the switch, I gave it an "F".
For what I use...get in, look at PMs, respond to PMs, click View New Posts and read/respond to new posts...nothing improved. It was a big who-ha to change and seems to have been pointless.

The search seems not to work well at all, getting logged out while writing a post is a pain (login in again and hit the the browser back button and your post is there and can be completed and submitted, but it took me a while to figure this out), and like others I like the poster identity info on the left.

It seems as if the change was "make-work" for somebody, when "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" would have been a good philosophy.

Having said all that, I love the TeaChat...it was a great forum before and is still a great forum!!! I do not want our hosts to get the idea that we're a bunch of whine-y ingrates.

Sal, I am so going to miss your pictures everyday! I must say I was wondering just the other day how you were able to keep us satisfied with new tea-porn every day  Thanks soooooo much!!! When you next get an urge to take a picture, know that you have a grateful audience.

This morning more Ceylon Kenilworth...mild and everybody will drink it! This afternoon an oolong that I'm quickly becoming a fan of...2009 Spring Lishan 2009 from FLT...the aroma in later steepings is really remarkable.

Joy, All,
Dreamer

Late night, early morning bluez! The forum needz a zzz emoticon.

A great thing I learned early on about Adagio, they maintain a transparency policy, part of which is giving us pretty free reign to say what is on our minds.

Interesting reading the wide range of responses to the question. There are features that are certainly an improvement ... but the glitches and messy little things that simply are not being remedied has grown from concern, to frustration, to a real annoyance. I have noticed comments progress from constructive input to intense complaints due to delays.

I also suspect the slow or no pace at fixing the forum has caused posting to drop considerably.

I have seen TeaChat become what I would like to consider the best English language tea forum on the planet over the last few years. Now I wonder where it is going ... I see a lot of hard work over the years wasting away.

Well, one problem fixed, posts from this point forward will be added to your total post count. :D

Great TeaDay beginning with Hatsumi from O-Cha followed by Fuga Limited Edition from Zencha.

I gave it a "C". I think once the bugs are ironed out, it won't be much different or much less user-friendly than it was before. The speed at which the bugs are being addressed is disheartening...making me wish we'd had a beta version for members to play around with before the "go live" took place. I know there were probably some valid security-based reasons for the changes, and I am fairly laid back and patient. I liked the icons better on the left, but I can adapt. I have all the same gripes as everyone about post count, view new messages button, floating text and links, etc. But overall, the people and the content are still as wonderful as ever.

I will note that I am disappointed that the conversion, lost accounts, and unfixed bugs seem to obviously coincide with a significant decrease in forum activity. I doubt that's what Adagio had in mind when these changes were made.

Drinking BaoZhong 09 Honorable Mention from FLT... a sample included in the order I received yesterday. I think I am on 8 or so infusions, and it has been delightful. Buttery, floral, and very sweet. Yum!

Why yes, it did, thanks Chip! Sorry, I was quite distracted by work, in fact I am just now getting home. Long day. Times like these I really want a nice cuppa and to relax.
