Even if I recognize that there are meanings associates with the tea words, I most likely can't pronounce them to save my life much less remember what exactly they mean. Though definitely less elegant and less appropriate than traditional terms, I often use my own words instead. My fiance has his own terms for my tea stuff (i.e. chashaku = mini hockey stick; chasen = badminton birdie).

Cup is empty at the moment, but I made some awesome iced tea with a blend of half peach oolong and half assam. It's naturally sweet, but the peach is toned a bit by the assam.

I've figured out, sort of, a lot of tea terms, but am still frequently puzzled. For example, people describe a lot of sensations associated with drinking puerh teas, and as best as I can puzzle out, they could be discussing anything from a feeling of astringency in the back of the mouth or a sweet aftertaste to a caffeine buzz.

Lots more to learn!

And today, a green tea day as I played with my new electric kettle's temperature settings: sencha, an hui white tea, and bi lo chun.

If I run into a teaword I don't know I google it. That usually helps :D

A glossory right here on teachat would be very nice though and would introduce people to words they didn't even know existed. I like the idea.
