Really, the pots are out there if you're looking for them.
I believe you. But considering the chatter on IM it seemed like a good topic for discussion. Seems as though the Japanese tea fans work out their collaborations/commissions. Maybe there are enough small pot fans to do the same. There are surely some good Yixing area artists lurking around TC.
I did notice two sold by Gordon at Dragon Tea House.

I have the same DTH pot that Debunix has, and I'm happy with it. Problem is it's the only yixing I own so I have no basis for comparison.

Those pots are really cute...I prefer smaller pots in general, especially when it comes to yixing. My only yixing is around 250ml and I feel that it's too big....

As I wrote in the [urlhttp://
www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?p=196336#p196336]Yixing show-off topic[/url], that really cute mini pot from DTH does brew tea quite nicely. As you'd anticipate, it is a bit awkward due to its tiny size: without an intermediate vessel, pouring water into it from my 1.5L pino kettle can be challenging, and it's obviously not the pot for a fine long-leaved Dan Cong tea. But my justification for buying it was to use it (other than my love of small things in general) for tasting samples of very precious, expensive aged sheng puerh, and for that, it works just fine.

I've always thought a set of five classic shapes around 80-100ml would be a great seller. (Like the set TIM featured
here, or the one in Hou De's blog
here.) I'm not sure how available these sets are in Asia, but the one at Hou De is the only I've seen offered to the English speaking market. With high quality clay, I bet there would be many folks willing to part with $400-$500 for a similar modern set.

Skip4tea has a 75 ml 'wu xing' set, but it's a bit more than the price you mention (though it's presumably a bit older too).
For a modern set of this type, I don't think I would pay more than $250.

All depends on the clay and craftsmanship.

I want the good stuff (or the mediocre stuff, depending on who you ask!).

This has been discussed and under consideration several times. It becomes hard to get X number of members to agree on a pot in its totality given all the variables. Also as the price point goes up, we become much more particular.
It is a lot easier to agree on a cup for instance as we have in the Hagi SOs. BTW, there is an artisan cup in the works from China, and I will be looking for more opps in the future.
But Yixing teapots ... tough crowd here. I have actually seen a few "unofficial" group buys run aground after a lot of time and effort went into them. Maybe it would be smoother sailing if it was more ... "official."
There are several options I have considered.

I am putting some feelers out there for doing a run of small pots. From past experience, it would probably be 3-4 months at least before anything would be available. I have a pretty good idea of what type of pot it would be; If it turns out that I am able to work something out, I will post details. I would probably do one shape, and if everything goes well, perhaps make some additional styles later on.

Super Mini teapot. Guestimate 20ml to 30ml range. 1 cup. Photo makes the pot looks big, but it is a tiny little teapot

A while back I helped someone to find a small pot which was taken from one those sets.

The whole set was available for $350 USD and a single pot went for $76 USD without shipping. Another picture of the single pot which I helped purchasing that got taken out of those sets is over in the teapets section here:

Not to cause any confusion, those pots are not made by XuJianQing. If anyone has an eager interest in those sets you can send me a PM or email and I'll see what I can do, but you'll have to be quick as we are moving.

its zhuni, and the (inaccurate) sizes given by the shop owner where 3x 28ml, 32ml and 56ml. The pot that is pictured in the tea-pets thread was supposed to be 32ml but holds ~50ml according to my own measurement. Either the shop measured the resulting tea liquid minus expanded leaves or just guessed. Anyways, the middle sized pot is 50ml and 3 are smaller and one a bit bigger than that. The cigarette gives a good indication. I don't have any pictures at hand showing the strainer inside, but it is multi-hole and flat, not the ball kind. The shop has currently still 5 of those sets at hand.

Looks little rough for pure zhuni? Perhaps a mixed clay?
