Salsero, your photograph of the day is unbelievably sensual and beautiful. I love it - the colours just pop! And it leaves me with a strange, aching desire for a blue dragon gaiwan...

Victoria, that's a beauty. And a perfect illustration for those people in the thread who haven't seen a gaiwan before.
Until recently, I hadn't seen a gaiwan either. Suddenly, I own five! Three of the traditional style shown above (with bowl, lid, saucer), and two of the flatter, spouted, "teapot" type that typically don't have an accompanying saucer.
By the way, isn't saucer a funny word. Saucer... saucer.

I feel dorky admitting it now, but the whole process of making enough tea for me and DH to have smallish cups was not relaxing and so even though the tea was really good, I missed the calming aspect of my typical brewing.
auggy, if you have difficulty with the traditional type of gaiwan (like Victoria's or Salsero's), I do recommend the "teapot"-style gaiwan, which is very easy and pleasant to use:
P.S. (edit) Correction, I have six gaiwan. Yowza... I can't even keep track of them!
