I've misspelled the name, it should be En Shi Yu Lu.Jack_teachat wrote:What parameters are you using for this Ritva? I've been using 2.7 g per 200ml, 1 min, 70 C for the first brewing. My parameters are from TeaSpring, they say: "Use about 2 grams of tea leaves (1-2 teaspoons) for every 150ml of water. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 60°c (140°F) to 70°c (158°F) for 1 minute for the first and second brewing. Gradually increase steeping time and temperature for subsequent brewing." I start at 70 C because I like the tea to be "more refreshing" than "mellow and smooth" (which are words that Hibiki-An uses to characterize the taste of their teas

In order for me to maintain my objectivity in trying teas, I attempt to try as many as is realistically possible within my area of specialty, Japanese greens. I am sure I will try teas from 11-15, but with focus on a handful. I do need to get back to my roots to a degree with Chinese, and maybe some Indian.
Started the day for the first time ever with a matcha, Yame from TJGTS. SweeTea liked the change, and Pyrit showed more interest today. Koi just wanted to knock teaware off the table.
Currently sipping mugi/genmai from last night waiting for my next tea which is a few hours away.

It came from Nadacha in the UK. I think that Nada only has one of each pot, but they seem all to offer a good quality/price relationship.Ritva wrote: Salsero, your legged yixing from yesterday is gorgeous. Where did you get it from?

Harney & Sons and Andao Teas already so far. I really want to get into Japanese Greens when the spring comes and I already have a few things I want to order from O-Cha, so that'll be at least one more, probably two as I've heard good things about other Japanese vendors. There's a few pots I want from Puershop so I'll probably end up getting tea as well. I'd love to make it to the Tea Gallery again, and I expect to make a purchase to Nadacha halfway soon.
So I guess that's 7. Which is above the 4-6 I already picked. Heh.

Hello and looks like a great TeaDay!
I predict that I will be using 4-7 different vendors this year as I want to venture out into Great Japanese Greens. Right now I have dealt with of course Adagio, O-Cha and Den's, but there are a few more I would like to try. Can't wait for Spring and Shincha! This will be a first for me w/the really premium vendors. I am sooo excited! And the vendor and tea advice is certainly here!
In my cup, again my fave of all time I think.... YM from O-Cha.
Ya gotta try it at least once, it's AWESOME BABY
Have a FAB TeaDay everyone!

I went for 4-6, since I want to buy from only really good Swedish vendors to support them. I mostly buy from In the Mood for Tea and House of Tea but want to try Stockholm Tea Center (yes, all these are Swedish, I guess English is the new Swedish...). And I use to buy from local shops when travelling.
Now having Keemun, started the day with Yerba Mate, have also been drinking some Tie Luohan.

I voted 4 - 6. One of my tea-goals this year is to expand my vendor horizons outside of my regular 2-3. But I don't know if I'll be as daring as I'd like so I'll be happy if I hit 6.
A 2nd flush darjeeling today - forgot which one. DH got PG Tips today (he's been complaining about my tea choices so the man can drink bagged) but I accidentally used 3 bags in his mug instead of the normal 2. So now he's probably going to be complaining even about the PG Tips. Sigh. He needs to learn how to brew his own. It's frustrating making teas for someone who doesn't appreciate it - the tea or the fact that it is being made for them.
