Voted black, but it would have been oolongs...
..under different circumstances. Any semblance of 'normalcy' fled in early April. Daily living patterns are all 'make-do' right now. Have recently restocked a few favs, plus am trying a few new teas, so teatime promises to be a tad better than recent experience.
A chance purchase of an estate Ceylon recently was the highlight of my abnormal month. Completely out of Oolong right now.
Retried the estate Assam mentioned a few days ago. Much better flavor, not too shabby. Needed more leaf but much shorter steep.

Very likely.

Probably, if you varied the infusion mechanics in an attempt to improve the results.
>Or is it all down to the teapot from Chen?
Maybe. Are other tea brewing results improved when you use this teapot?

Courtesy of the Secretary of State of the Gainesville T'Buzz, I am drinking my initiatory Yanagi ... finally, after having first heard of it from Olivierco and Chip last July. It is exactly as described by the indomitable Olivierco, like a refreshing breeze.
Lately, I have enjoyed a couple Assams brewed gong fu in a gaiwan ... I can get it strong without so much of the astringency. That may well become my style of choice for Assam.Intuit wrote: Retried the estate Assam mentioned a few days ago. Much better flavor, not too shabby.
Green for me... with FF Darjeelings a near-tie. But I have realllly enjoyed the shincha this year. I've been working through the Sae Midori and Fukamushi Supreme... YM still in the fridge, saving the best for last. The Darjeelings have been a pleasure too, and I have had some of each nearly every day.
I'm at my mom's this morning, and finishing up my Chiran Sencha, which was the last of my pre-shincha green supply. This has been a very nice sencha, but let me say the dregs in the bottom of the package make a powerful last cup! Wow.
Happy Tea Day to all.

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***
Started the TeaDay with last year's Adagio Spring Darjeeling.
Have a nice day everyone!

White Symphony from Adagio has dominated May, which is fine with me. As summer continues, more SN is expected.
Today: Sencha brewed by the cup, which is unusual for this batch-brewer. But variety is the [something] of [something], as they say.
But right now I'm sipping an ice-cold Dry Martini.
Which leads me to ask the collective: Does anyone on TeaDay know a cocktail with tea as one of the ingredients?
Surely that would be a surefire hit? Gong-fu sencha and vodka, for instance?
Anyone?

Tea Forte now has tea sachets for cocktails. I bought them, but have not tried them out yet. http://www.teaforte.com/store/cocktail-infusions/Trey Winston wrote:But right now I'm sipping an ice-cold Dry Martini.

Kame Jiru shi gyokuro to end the day.
That's interesting, thanks. I think I'll get some. Could be a sneaky way of getting someone to develop a passion for teaVictoria wrote: Tea Forte now has tea sachets for cocktails. I bought them, but have not tried them out yet. http://www.teaforte.com/store/cocktail-infusions/

yum to the martini although i'm thinking i'll be having a margarita or capriana soon. i've also been having similar thoughts to the tea/happy hour- will have to do more actual research and experimentation soonest!!
eta- my cousin would make a bourbon slush with tea....
Indeed. This is the sort of research that could prove most enjoyable. Keep us up to date on your experimental results.cherylopal wrote:i like the way you think x2Trey Winston wrote:

I, for one, will try out the vodka/sencha combo as soon as practical. Purely as a service to the TeaChat members, you understand.
