I'm having flashbacks of a freaky combination of the movies Jurassic Park and Mrs. Doubtfire...
Yo I'm A Raptor
Doing what I can
Gonna eat everything
Til the appearance of man
Yo yo see me
I'm living beneath the soil
I'll be back but I'm coming as oil
Love the form, I'd love to see how that feels in the hand.

+1 Very nice glaze.brandon wrote: I don't care for the fancy footwork, but the glaze on the second cup has me pretty excited. Reminds me of Kohiki or Korean Hagi.
This glaze rules.

Beautiful iron-rich stoneware with mottled rutile glaze. Actually broke morning routine and let the hagi watch. These are nice sweet 1.5 ounce cups. Love the shape and kuodai as well. I would get some more ...

And matching gaiwan! Though I will be using this one as a lidded cup.

Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)
Long time, no TeaChat
Been really busy making and firing new work. In fact, just unloaded the wood-kiln yesterday morning. I haven't had much time to sort through things yet, but I thought I'd share a few preliminary shots of some results. I'll try and edit this post and add links when I start to get work listed for sale. In the meantime check it out and let me know what you think

Matcha Chawan, unglazed exterior w/ red shino glazed interior

I'm really liking this crawling shino, here it's applied to an iron bearing stoneware and has some slip glaze over top for the accents.

Interior shot of another crawling shino piece.

This glaze combo was inspired by Mr. Coffee's work, slip glaze under a crawling shino, WILD!

Another shot of the same piece, really fun technique

One of many cups, simple Helmer shino glaze on a Helmer stoneware, the claybody and glaze blend pretty seamlessly to produce a lovely golden color

Iron bearing stoneware w/ red shino, nice and simple
Well this post is becoming WAY too long
I have so much more to show you guys, but I'll have to do it another time I guess. Lots of different styles, sizes and new glaze combos coming your way as soon as I can get around to taking some more photos. Never enough time in the day!
I hope your all having a great cuppa, TTYL

Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)
Well, for the most part I have not have any time to photograph and sort through must of the work from my last wood-firing because I've been frantically trying to prepare and make work for the next one in two weeks. I apologize for not sharing more results. I did manage to find a little time tonight to put this one out in the world. I'm making a lot more of these in vastly different sizes for the next firing, I'm pretty excited about this clay/glaze combo, it's so dramatic!

Shuweet shino crawler? Or whatever it is, it is really cool. Looking forward to seeing more!
