Thank you. I love his stuff. I can ask him, but I don't know if he would be interested. He's pretty busy. He did visit me a few months back though. That was fun. We drank a TON of tea!!!

Very wintry feeling in those cups. They would go with the cold spell we are having here at the moment. It's the coldest in Thailand in recorded history. It got down to 13c in Bangkok.IPT wrote:Thank you. I love his stuff. I can ask him, but I don't know if he would be interested. He's pretty busy. He did visit me a few months back though. Does the artist have a website?
Re: Celadon Show and Tell
I made this bowl a few years ago and always liked it. It's a 1% iron ash glaze applied over a crackled white slip. I did a poor job of sieving the slip so it's a bit lumpy, but maybe that adds to the wabi-sabi quality?

I think I was fortunate to find this group of 4 cups on a web "antique store". Cheap, too. The crackle is almost crystalline. It appears to be handthrown stoneware, but they have no marks, just a spot of glaze on the bottom. If anyone recognizes where or when they may have originated, please tell.

I think I just drooled a little bitIPT wrote:Here's an update on the Wu Yuanzhong Cups I got a while ago. They are staining nicely They are quite small, only 40cc. I love his pieces, they're so unique.

Very lovely!

This was an antique Japanese set I got from David Pike (togei), but we're not sure of the dating. It's a very pretty little set; the pot is tiny!

Re: Celadon Show and Tell
Here is my new Xu De Jia Celadon Teabowl. This might have been the most hoops I've jumped through to get a piece of teaware, as I saw it at the vendors shop, but its not up on their website (yet). So after dreaming about it for quite awhile I picked up the phone and called their shop hoping they still had some.

As you can see I've already but it to a bit of use in the less than 24 hours its been here.

Very cool Adam. Looks like it has that satiny feel/finish to it versus the glossy look.
