Just put in my order and went through the funky payment thing with Zencha. I ordered the Fuji Superior and Fuji Ultimate and went for the free shipping which should arrive just in time for me to finish up the hatsumi from o-cha I have. :)

And the organic warz are heating up. O-Cha is offering around 5 new organic Shincha with a few more coming in the next week or two.

Kinari and maiko`s shincha gyokuro are here, and kiwami from zencha, only hibiki`s shincha traditional and fukamushi are missing, kinari is a force of nature, review coming up, yesterday I loved it, this was the first great experience with sencha this year.

It's really nice to see the organic trend on the rise. This year I am going to try buying only organic shincha. I know this means that I will miss out on a few gems but I feel like I need to "cast my monetary vote" to support the movement :D

Japanese Green Tea Online will be offering organic shincha in a day or so. Last year the organic shincha I got from them was by far the best out of all the organic shinchas I had...

I have had better organic Japanese greens this year than in the past. This would be a great trend. Yuuki-Cha's were the best so far. I am curious to see how O-Cha's matches up!

They have always been excellent at sourcing new teas, after all, they put Yutaka Midori from Kagoshima on the map, literally. 4 years ago, nobody ever heard of it, now it is becoming the new gold standard in sencha.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

I would think organic gykuro would be the toughest organic to produce.

I just love Yutaka Midori Shincha!

by robbie_olive » May 17th, '09, 01:53

Chip,

I definitely agree with you on the Yutaka Midori from Kagoshima! It is absolutely divine! I actually prefer it over the Uji Kirameki that I bought from O-Cha ( although I shouldn't say that out aloud!). LOL
I love it so much that I might buy a couple of more packets! I find the taste of the Yutaka Midori much more to my liking and the tea leaves are much finer!

Cheers,

Robbie

This morning, while preparing a Qi Lan wulong, I saw the postman passing.
I decided to have a look in my mailbox, and surprisingly I had recieved my Fuji-The Ultimate fukamushi from Japan.
It took the same time to arrive than a graphic novel from Great Britain (and London, only hours of train far...)

Finally I decided to brew a Sencha...
The dried leaves have a really fruity perfume, that's great!
I'll try to make a review one day... (beacause I'm studying 10hours à day it will be hard)

Yutaka Midori was such a sencha break through for me. I had struggled for years with numerous US domestic vendors. Then bam. No turning back from that.

I just got my organic shincha from OCha! Wow, that was faaast! I think I ordered on Friday and it's already here :D

I got two of each shincha. The tea is in very beautiful packaging and each bag is vacuum sealed so the bags are hard like bricks.

After I finish off my current bag of Yutaka Midori I will definitely try it out! :D

Oh, I also got some organic shincha from Hibiki an. Last year's was disappointing but I'm hoping that this year's will be much better!

Hi Kongni: I ordered 3 bags of organic shincha from o-cha myself. I haven't received my order yet, though.

I can't wait to try them out. Maybe I'll even do a review of them on here.
