That's a shame. People should buy tea because they like it, not because somebody else likes it.

What would be interesting is to see how many people try to convince themselves that they should like it, even if they really don't. Ah well. A chacun son choix.

In absence of all other outside influences, I would have expected the Bulang to sell out first, too (well, technically second, after the GFZ). The 2010 Bulang was spectacular and was also the first to sell out from 2010, I believe.

Bulang was the only one to sell out of 2010

There might be a secondary market (a.k.a black market) for the Mannuo  for anyone who really desperate for a cake.

Just in case anyone think I'm one of the culprit for the disappearance of Mannuo, I only manage to get myself a tiny sample. I count myself lucky to have some more Bulang.

Hobbes has similar effect as Cloud does on the pu market, only the market in the West is much smaller than in the Far East.

The GFZ is gone again. Mebbe it was only a special circumstance sale or something...

As for Hobbes selling the tea out. It's kinda obvious that there wasn't that much of it, and the process was far slower than what can happen on Houde (which never needs reviews, aside from the famous 2001 Dayi One Leaf Yiwu review on livejournal). I wound up deciding to buy some, actually, because I was thinking about how Nada would go about his business, and figured that none of cakes were especially made in plenty like they were last year and that they'd be all only a bit more than the Bulang in production. I didn't really have time to wait for better times.

I'm with Hobbes, though. Excellent tea, and worth buying.

I found the old post with pictures of that traumatic event...

I got a delivery notice from FedEx today, so it looks like I'll be picking up my tea tonight... woo hoo! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have a repeat of that terrible event... :D

All right! 2011 EoT beengs (and samples) currently in hand.... awesome aroma from the box, very powerful!

And no broken-in-two beengs....! :D

I picked up a couple of extras as well (Rou Gui; 1981 Dong Ding; Art of Tea mags).

I know what I'm doing this weekend....! :D

Why is it a black market? It's a perfectly legal product to sell between individuals and, in fact, we frequently see aged tea show up for astounding prices.

I will agree that it's a shame if wealthy-enough individuals buy up most of what's available only to flip it. Good tea should be shared.

 Ah, by "extras" I meant non-puerh stuff I paid for... hehe.

But I did receive a sample of the shu as well. I'm interested to test that out, as he mentioned that it would arriving later than everything else. It sounds extremely interesting from the description.
