Monday TeaDay 7/03/09 TeaZone Brewer?

by Chip » Aug 3rd, '09, 00:44

Greetings TeaFriends and welcome to Monday's TeaDay. Please stop in and share what is in your cup with us.

Yesterday was a quiet day on TeaChat, responders indicated tea choices that reigned supreme. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Welcome to TeaZone week!

Today, we explore brewing. Do you ever feel like you are in the "TeaZone" in that you can "brew no wrong?" Tea after tea, brew after brew ... it is just right on the mark.

I am looking forward to sharing the TeaZone with everyone today. Brew how you like, like how you brew!

Maybe I sometimes get into a TeaZone? Hmmm, I don't know. I've never brewed tea with other people. Something tells me I'd brew what I think is the perfect cup, but somebody else would not agree. I'm certainly pleased most of the time.

This morning I've broken free of oolongs and have shifted to trying some of puershops' 2009 Yunnan premium silver thread tea. It's a nice gentle green, very nice.

Have a great week, everybody!

Chip, I like your "botswatter" tag!

No, don't think I've ever been in a teazone. Things are a bit too chaotic around here!

Yunnan Gold morning again, yum.

Sometimes it comes out well, sometimes not, but no TeaZones for me... and sometimes the cup is just empty.

Like Riene said, things are quite chaotic around here. With so much on my plate and often several things on my mind, tea is very, VERY rarely something I can do just for the sake of doing it. It is often in conjuction with other things. So, I am not often solely focused on the tea, which means the outcome is a bit up in the air.

Even on days where it is only me and my tea I don't think I have ever felt confident enough to feel that I am making the perfect cup - I am always surprised when I brew up something breathtaking :)

I believe so. Probably a few times a week I get distracted and forget to set my timers and end up making a bad batch of tea. To help ensure I do this on an increasingly less frequent basis I force myself to drink the destroyes brews.

In my cup this morning: Kenyan Black Tea from Stash Tea

Don't I wish... I'm in Sal's camp on this one. It's usually good, but I'm a distractable human being.

In my cup: East Friesian Blend from SpecialTeas.

I usually make a cup that I'm like "Woah, that was over-steeped..."
I wouldn't say it's everyday, but definitely once or twice a week, and definitely at work.

It's those rare, breathtaking cups of tea that keep me motivated to try new varieties, try to improve my skills (such as they are), and remind me why I'm a tea drinker in a land of coffee drinkers!

Now, you too can be....In the ColdBrew TeaZone!!!

In the world of Cold-Brewed Ice Tea, there is NEVER a bad tea day! As long as you use good quality water and whole leaf teas, you can steep as long as you want, and your tea will NEVER have that bitter bite from overbrewing!

Set it up in the morning, put it in the fridge, and go! When you return later on, its done - no matter how long it sat! Just remove the spent leaves and enjoy!

Smokey bite too much in your Keemun or Lapsang?? NO PROBLEM!
Too much malt in that Assam for drinking in hot weather?? NO PROBLEM!
Tired of staring at your tea stash, trying to figure out to drink in the hot weather?? NO PROBLEM!!

No hot weather?? NO PROBLEM
*giggling*

Finally, you have a use for those teas that just couldn't yield a decent cup, no matter who much you fiddled with infusion conditions!

With the EasyPro ColdBrew Process, you just set it up and relax! Your fridge does all the work. Your tea is ready...when YOU are!

Yes, Friends - Now Everyday...you too can be in The ColdBrew TeaZone!
(cue dramatic music)

Currently on: ColdBrew No-name 'Imperial' Keemun.
Next up: ColdBrew No-name Estate Ceylon

I would have to vote 'I don't think so' as I am new to brewing and actually very rarely brew ... my DH, the Mod normally does the brewing for us at home. He's such a show-off!

At work right now it truly is a no-brainer as mostly I brew Kukicha w/Matcha, which BTW is currently in mu cup, or mugicha or similar. My brewing skills need lots of practice needless to say.

Hope everyone is having a TEArrific TeaDay and drinking tea. Sometimes around here it seems like everyone has gone a ' No TEA' vacation from Teachat.
