Good TeaDay everyone. Please do drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed leaf appearance as a criteria in purchasing tea. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Are you eating with your tea today? If so, what is are you eating/drinking?
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone! Bottoms up.

Not likely, I tend to drink tea by itself or at breakfast, with the exception of iced tea.
Drinking the Aquarius signature blend atm.

I don't usually eat while drinking, unless I'm doing a super-long session with friends and family, which can last a couple of hours. I like to have small snacks just to whet the appetite and perhaps "cleanse" the palate for other teas.
Re: Friday TeaDay 9/25/09 Eating while drinking today?
I start off the morning w/ a couple cups of tea and some breakfast. I have oatmeal about 95% of the time, so I can still enjoy the tea. Recently I bought one of those glass double-walled thermoses to drink tea at work; there, I usually drink it alone. When lunch comes around, I drink something else.
This morning's accompaniment with breakfast is the 2003 Golden Sail shu that I started yesterday. I only got 4 cups into it, so why not continue? I'll enjoy it when I come back from work, too. Nice stuff! (especially at ~$1/oz).
Have a wonderful TeaDay everybody!

I usually drink water with food, and I pretty much never drink tea while eating.
Enjoying my first ever Kai Hua, specifically the Crescendo variety from Adagio. It looked promising, and I suspect this is as close to a yellow tea as one can currently get from Adagio.
But I can't seem to get a handle on it. Is it too weakly brewed?
Edit: Yes.

I virtually never have tea w/ food per se, however this morning I am having oatmeal with sixth steep of sencha, barely more than tea water, but still technically is tea and therefore, I am having food with my tea today.
Began the TD wth a mix of some dribs and drabs of sencha which I thought worked out pretty good! SweeTea certainly agreed while Pyrit was intuitively missing on a morning when there are NO cat treats to be found. Pyrit it seems likes to eat with my tea!

I drink tea if I want tea, regardless of whether or not I'm eating at the time. I might choose something bolder, but I'll still choose tea.

I usually don't have food with tea, but some Friday mornings I do, like today. I had a toasted bagel with Tao of Tea Neela. Neela is an outstanding Nilgiri tea, one of the best I have tried.
Have a nice day everyone!

Yes, of course, at breakfast, I eat while drinking my second cup. My first comes beforehand.
Just as there are many wines that pair with and stand up to foods admirably, so there are teas that compliment and even enhance one's eating experience.
Cream of Assam single malt this morning. Peculiar top-note, a green fragrance present in these Satrupa Estate tea leaves. Extreme freshness, perhaps? In thirty-plus years of drinking quality Indian teas, I've never experienced this before.

Tea is just part of life for my wife and I. We are constantly drinking it. It is just "there". Sometimes drunk without eating..... sometimes during meals. Sometimes just after meals. Sometimes its tea and a "snack". Sometimes it is simply as good a teabag tea as we can find ...... sometimes real loose teas. Sometimes matcha. But tea is always just kinda' there. Many many cups a day.
When I am working in the studio, a cup of tea or a kyusu brewing some tea is usually not very far away.
best,
.............john

I rarely if ever eat while drinking tea. I usually drink water with food. I'm currently enjoying some golden monkey. A very malty way to start the day!
Re: Friday TeaDay 9/25/09 Eating while drinking today?
I usually drink tea by itself. In the morning tea will come before food while at lunch and dinner tea will follow food. Dining out is an exception, and times when I'm in a hurry are another.
Jing's Tie Luo Han is in my cup this morning.

Re: Friday TeaDay 9/25/09 Eating while drinking today?
Like others have said, I typically only drink tea with breakfast. I have black tea in the morning with almost any breakfast. This morning however I went with coffee.
I like to have tea separate from other meals because I find the flavors of the food really overpower teas. Sometimes desserts are nice with tea though.
