by maldoror » Jan 3rd 10 2:21 am

so who knows which models work with induction.
i was told by distributer that the kettles in the stove/kettle sets only work with alcohol or charcoal.

i'll post this here in case others are wondering. But this is a Distributor out of Canada, that has a navigatable website, and some decent pictures. Though I do not think it is an exhaustive list of Lins products.

I don't know, and even if its reasonably priced, it would probably be very pricey to ship. As I'm guessing a CZ charcoal stove is larger than their alcohol burner stands?

I believe Lin's sells a couple of stoves that can burn charcoal if that's what you mean. But they use their own clay and the design is a little different style. Chaozhou stoves are generally made in Chaozhou out of clay from that area. I think Imen said she wasn't importing them anymore; I would contact her and see if she has anything. If she's not, using a proxy and buying from Taobao would be your best bet if you're looking for a Chaozhou stove.

Back to the original topic; for any LA area folks, the HK2 market on Colima in Rowland Heights has a shop inside that is selling a bunch of Lin's stuff. Prices seem high but not awful.

There's some other discussion about using them with induction, but my understanding is that yes, some of the earthenware kettles have some metal embedded in the base so that they will work with induction. I don't know which specific models will or won't work with it.

I believe they will email you a (large) pricelist if you email them.

Some people use the little Kamjove induction stoves; they come with a (crappy) little kettle, but I think they will work with some other kettles too - YMMV.

See http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?t=6191

Aside from that, you'd probably need to get a full-sized one.

I think you need to email them and find out. None of us are walking Lins product sales people or specialists, which know everything about every piece they have.

I have one that I think works with an Induction stove top, but I don't know its model number or anything, so I really can not help you there.

Just a question about the website, do they provide an English translation to it? Kinda difficult if you don’t understand the language.
